Four years ago...

It's been fifteen days since Nate arrived in Malaysia. He was here as one of the exchange students at the "Aviation management college" at Putrajaya.

Two and half months to go..

Nate held a calender in his hands, counting days. Loneliness started engulfing him in its evil clutches. It was weird cause he was an introvert. He liked to be in his personal space. But being alone even in a room full of students without anyone to talk to without getting conscious of getting judged- hit his vulnerability right at the bull's eye.

He missed his room, he missed Pihu, he missed his country badly. Atleast he had a friend back at home. Here, he knew none. For a few moments he wished only if he hadn't won this scholarship...

The college was just a little over a decade old. But it had decent facilities. Students were provided condos as accomodation. This was sheer luxury for him.

He was stuck at his condo the entire morning. Even an introvert as him was feeling immensely bored. Gathering up all his determination, he decided to step out and take a swim in the pool.

He walked out in his swimming trunks from the elevator and stepped towards swimming pool wrapping his upper body in a towel. Not many people were out today. It could be easily detected that the hot and humid weather was the prime culprit! But he could use a good tan considering how pale his skin was.

A handful of people were swimming in the pool. He looked stunned by the scale of the Southville condominium! It screamed luxury to him in fifty different languages! It was the first time since his arrival that he actual scouted the area.

Nate gasped as a soft ball hugged his ankle. He looked down cautiously only to find a adorable little munchkin standing on two legs while grabbing onto him with other two.

"Meow" it said in a small voice looking in his eyes.

His heart melted. He squatted down and gently rubbed it's head.

"Mamma.. meow" he heard an equally adorable baby voice as a soft but fast footstep grew closer to him. Sure enough, a chubby looking little angel was standing in front of him.

Nate's heart melted two times in a row. She was there in a purple frock with white polka dots, her hair was styled in two pigtails. She was a living doll. He wanted to pinch her balloon cheeks so bad but restrained his urge at the last moment. What if her mother thinks he was a kidnapper? He would end up in police station and kiss his scholarship good-bye.

He sighed in defeat. He needed his scholarship to go back home, so for now he could only pet the kitty. The little girl squatted down almost as if she was copying him.

"What is your name, angel?" He asked in as much sweet voice as he could master.

The baby giggled and said, "Daisy."

"Iris, don't disturb this good uncle." This time he heard a mature female voice.

He turned around only to see a bigger version of baby Daisy. This has to be her mommy - he thought.

Baby Iris giggled adorably, again, as if she was hell bent on keeping his heart in the current melted state. She slowly extended her small chubby hands towards the kitty.

The lady stood there watching a grown up kid and a little kid playing with a kitty in full harmony. She smiled without her conscious knowledge. There was something about Nate that triggered her motherly side. She had a strong urge to wrap him in a blanket and take him to her home and protect him.
