Chapter 61

*Bri POV *

We pulled into Panera and went inside to order. I just ordered chicken noodle soup, side of bread, and sweat tee. When Cam finished ordering, we got our food and found a table as we waited for my mom. After a good 10 minutes, my mom appeared with a man beside her. My spoon fell into my soup, along with my mouth, as I saw they were holding hands.

"Bri, this is Jordan, me and him have been seeing eachother for awhile now."

"Hello Briana, nice to finally meet you. You're mother has said wonderful things about you."

"It's Bri, and I wish I could say the same thing."

I gave my mom the we will talk later look.

"And Bri, who is this?"

"I'm Cameron, sir, the neighbor and boyfriend."

"Oh, so this is Cameron. I've heard a bunch of stories about you two."

"Enough about us, so. Mom, Jordan, how long have you guys been seeing eachother?"

"I actually met your mom years ago in college. Your dad and I were actually on the same football team."

I flinched at the mention of him, but smiled and let him continue.

"We ran into eachother whenever you and Cameron both came to visit. Well before you guys started dating."

"Your mom locked herself out of her car so I had to help her and we went out to dinner."

"And then that happened more often, and we started dating I guess you guys would say."

"So you guys have been together for.. a long time?"

"Yeah, I've always loved her if we are gonna be honest. I'm glad we ran into eachother."

He looked at her and she looked back at him, and it reminded me of how she would look at my dad. And I'm happy she finally found someone, she refused to date anyone because of dad. I just hope he doesn't try to pull the father act on me because that will annoy me to no end.

After all of us finished eating, we walked outside and exchanged our goodbyes. Before I got in my car, Jordan came up to me.

"Hey Briana- I mean Bri?"

"Yeah?"

"Is it... Um.. Okay if I ask your mom to marry me?"

"Wait what?"

"I wanted to ask you since you are literally her world and all.. I just wanted your approval."

"Um..... Yeah. You seem like a nice man, Jordan. But i swear, if you hurt my mom in anyway I will kill you. I've seen her hurt so many times ever since I was barely even four. And if I see her go through that again, I'll hunt you down. And don't think I'm bluffing because my dad had a lot of guns and I know where my mom hides them."

"Thank you so much, Bri. I love her."

"I can tell she loves you too.. She looks at you the way she looked at him..."

"He was a great man, Bri. Never forget that."

And with that I got in the car, and Cameron grabbed my hand and squeezed it in reassurance. A tear fell down my cheek slowly and Cam wiped it away.

"Hey, what's wrong?"

"Nothing... It's just.. My mom is finally better Cameron. She's happy."

I know it's short but I just wanted to do something small. Anyway, this book is coming to an end soon.. Like really soon actually. But expect a sequel!! I'm already working on it. I hope you guys like it!
