Chapter 3: Cliche Partners

Percy POV:

My first day keeps getting better and better. Bad first impression? Check. Body slam someone? Check. Get some one to hate you already? Check. Mom will be disappointed.

I walk to the office with Grover. It's kind of weird. A couple girls stare at me and some the jocks smirk at me. Some glare. And I see that girl I keep knocking over look around baffled, until she narrows her eyes at me and turns away. Weird I say.

We step into the tidy office. The lady at the desk chews her bubble gum obnoxiously. When she sees us come in she pops her bubble.

"How may I help you sugar?" The desk lady inquires with a Southern accent.

"Uh, I'm the new student, Percy-- I mean Perseus Jackson." I reply, wincing at my real name. The Secretary a.k.a the desk lady smiles and pulls out my schedule.

"Have a goode day hon!" She exclaims as I walk out. I look at my schedule.

Homeroom: History; Rhea Silvia

A: History; Rhea Silvia

B: LA; Paul Blofis

C: Chemistry; Aphrodite Love (AN: Interesting name ;) )

D: Chemistry; Aphrodite Love

E: Math; Furiea Dodds

F: Lunch

G: Marine Biology; Poseidon Reef

H: Geography: Gaea Hills

I: Free Period

My schedule isn't too bad, but I kind of recognize some of the names. Hopefully Jason and or Grover are in some of them.

"Hey dude, let me see your schedule." Grover says to me. He glances at it.

"I have homeroom, LA, math, lunch, and free period with you." Grover bleats.

Suddenly, an shrill ring goes off and Grover falls over. I help him get his crutches and books together before he rushes me to our homeroom. We walk in and I keep my head down, trying not to draw attention to my lateness. Grover shows me to his seat and I sit behind him. I pick my head up while the lady does attendance and BAM! Ms. Silvia --I think it was-- looks EXACTLY like Audrey Hepburn. My mom made me watch Roman Holiday. Three times. That is freaky. I listen for any names I might know.

"Felicia Adams?"

"Here."

"Carly Bonzuelo?"

"Present."

"Luke Castellan?"

"Always here miss." I rolled my eyes.

"Rachel Dare?"

"Gift! You know like present? They mean the same thin--gah just forget it." Rachel! At least I might have two friends!

It goes on until me.

"Perseus Jackson?" Ugh. My real name.

"It's Percy, please. And here." Wow I am awkward.

Last but not least,

"Grover Underwood?"

"Heeeere." He bleats.

Audrey Hepburn clicks the send button and the attendance is done.

"So, homeroom. It's not class yet. So let's start watching a movie!" Ms. Silvia exclaims. I swear if-

"Let's watch Roman Holiday!" Yup. Called it. Maybe that's why she looks like Audrey Hepburn. She watches the movie so much she turned into Audrey Hepburn. Yay! That means I could turn into Nemo!

It's chemistry now. I'm nervous. Whenever I'm around liquid, it, in short, explodes. I don't get it either! But it does. So... that's nice.

"Alright darlings let me put you in your seats!" Mrs. Love squeals.

"Grover with Juniper." Grover silently mouths 'yes' and shows me who she is. She is pretty, in an elfish kind of way. (I'll let you imagine what Juniper looks like)

Mrs. Love says other names until finally mine.

" Mr. Jackson with...' oh gods. She has an evil glint in her eye, " Ms. Chase!" Who the Hades is Ms. Chase? I turn to find her and-- shoot. It's that stuck up girl that hates me now. She walks over, glaring at me as if daring me to say anything. But she is kind of pretty. Maybe I can undo my wrongs and actually become friends with her.

Annabeth POV:

.... WHY? WHY THE HADES WOULD SHE PUT ME WITH THIS-THIS, THIS JERK?? Operation happy school, dead.

He turns to me and sticks out his hand.

" Hi, I'm Percy." Humph. Now I can't hate him properly. He just HAD to be a polite person.

I turn to him.

" Hi. I'm Annabeth Chase."
