third person pov:

"so how has nyc been?" mr. lee, ava's dad asked.

ava finished her first broadway production and came back home to seoul, south korea to visit her father who she hasn't seen in months.

the father and daughter were catching up with each other's daily lives on their way to the grocery store.

it was safe to say that ava left a pretty big spot in seoul for someone to fill in, although it would be a struggle.

everyone in seoul knew about her. she became an internet sensation after performing in the streets of seoul for fun one night, not knowing that her actions would change her life.

ava took dance classes after her mom left her and her father. she strived to become a well-known dancer in hopes of bringing her mom back and was more than determined.

thanks to those dance classes, she let herself run free and dance like an angel that night, gaining herself a big crowd.

videos of her dancing were being spread all over the world, resulting in multiple dance companies wanting to scout her.

in the end, she chose to move across the world from south korea to the united states where she joined an agency in new york city to help her get her first broadway show.

"ava lee? no way!"

"ms. park!" ava greeted her old dance teacher cheerfully.

"what is my big dancing star doing back here?" ms. park questioned, giving ava a hug.

"i finished my first production and decided to come back home to see dad, but i am more than glad to see you here."

"i'm more than glad to see my thriving star back home too! you know what? why don't you stop by the studio later? i'm more than sure the girls would love to see you."

"really? well then i'd be more than happy to stop by," ava smiled.

"great! see you at 5:30!" ms. park exclaimed before running out of the store.

"seems like no one has forgotten about you," mr. lee stated, referring to all the eyes on ava and all the whispers being heard.

ava looked around and shyly laughed with a little nervousness building up.

"are you really the ava lee? the dancing sensation ava lee?" the cashier asked.

ava chuckled in response, "is that what everyone refers to me as now? i guess you can say i am."

"you are much prettier in person, not that you aren't already really pretty on screen," the cashier complimented.

"thank you," ava laughed.

"girls, this is ava lee. i'm sure you remember her from all the times i've talked about her," ms. park awkwardly chuckled.

"does anyone have any questions?"

"r-rosie?" ava questioned in shock as her eyes landed on a young girl.

"what are you doing here?" rosie asked.

"i- you look so much older," ava said, leaving rosie's question unanswered.

rosie let out a sigh and cut off eye contact with ava, allowing the other girls to ask ava any question.

almost every girl raised their hands to ask a question. questions like "how do you get on broadway" or "can you take me to new york with you?"

after the questioning session, ms. park asked ava if she could possibly teach a class or two, wanting to enter her girls into a dancing competition soon.

ava, unaware of how to answer, told ms. park she'd consider it and get back to her soon before leaving the studio.

walking back outside to where ava was expecting her dad to be waiting in his car, she spotted him talking to someone.

"oh- ava! look who's here!" her dad smiled.

"i- uhm," ava scrunched her face up in confusion as she couldn't tell who it was due to the fact that the male was wearing a mask.

seeing this, the male pulled down his mask and let out a small smile, shocking ava.

"jake-"

"it's true. you really are back," jake said as he pulled his mask back up.

"you know ava- jake is a trainee now," her dad announced.

"trainee? as in a trainee under a kpop company?" ava asked, still shocked as ever.

"under big hit entertainment as a matter of fact," her dad added.

"w-wow. i mean- congratulations," ava replied, "then- what are you doing at the studio?"

"uhm," jake cleared his throat, "rosie? my sister .. she is a dancer at this studio. remember?"

"oh right, right."

standing in between the two, ava's dad cleared his throat, "well i'll be waiting in the truck."

jake looked at mr. lee and exchanged a chuckle, "see you soon mr. lee."

"of course of course."

"so.." ava started.

jake put his hands in his pockets and looked down, "so-"

"how've you been?" jake asked.

"i've .. i've been fine," ava smiled, "how have you been?"

"i've been fine also," jake replied.

"really?"

"really," he stated.

"even with all the training?" ava questioned.

"well it's quite tiring, but i manage to get through it and whenever i can, i come back home and drop rosie off, so i've been fine."

"that's- that's good to hear and uh.." ava paused, "i- could we forget about the .."

"the break up? you said, and i quote, 'sorry to do this over text, but it'd be best if we call it quits for now, ava.' "

"jake-" ava chuckled in embarrassment.

"no, ava .. that all happened in high school. we were still young and it's all in the past," jake assured, "it's .. it's not like we were going to stay together in the end.."

ava's lips parted and she looked away after sharing eye contact with jake.

"well i should get back home and get some rest," jake stated.

"right.." ava mumbled.

"see you around."
