Firedapple's Scars

   Firedapple's Scars follows the perspective of young Firepaw as she and her many friends begin to find their place in Clan life. One night, their mentors send them out on a night hunting trip to practice hunting in the dark, and everything Firepaw has ever held dear is nearly taken from her when they are ambushed by and enemy patrol. The five friends all make it out alive, but Firepaw is left with a large scar down her side.
   The apprentices report the attack to the Clan leader, but at the next Gathering, every other Clan denies the suggestion that they were the ambushers. Firepaw and her friends must go on a secret quest to discover who really tried to kill them that night.
   After a lot of struggle, they learn that their mentors actually are the ones who attacked them, wanting to cause drama and start a war with another Clan. They tell the Clan what they discovered, and the mentors are banished as the apprentices are given their warrior names.
   Firepaw, now Firedapple, is still emotionally and physically scarred from that one fateful night. She is so traumatized that she refuses to leave camp for a number of moons, scared that the mentors are lurking around, waiting to finish the job.
   Her fears are fueled when one of her friends, a tom named Badgerblaze that she had had a crush on for a while, is found dead on the WindClan border. Everyone suspects that it was the banished mentors, and the Clan sends a patrol to find them. Firedapple is chosen for the patrol, and must overcome her fears to avenge her friend.
