Beauty is My Curse

   Goldenpaw has a problem. Wherever she goes, cats moon over her like she's a priceless diamond. As a sleek, long-legged, golden tabby she-cat with a long, plumy tail and gorgeous blue eyes, she can't go anywhere without being noticed. She despises the attention she gets for her beauty, because no cat takes her seriously in any other aspect of her life. They diminish her hunting and battle skills, insisting that she needs to find a mate and settle down. They tell her that she needs to "cheer up and provide more beautiful kits for the Clan."
   Goldenpaw's mother is the worst one of all. She is constantly sending toms of various ages over to speak with Goldenpaw, and the apprentice is becoming spiteful. She snaps angrily at any cat that comes near her, just wanting to be treated like any other cat.
   The day she receives her warrior name, Goldensong, the Clan leader orders that she find a mate within the next moon, or she'll be exiled. Desperate, but not wanting to settle down with just any cat, Goldensong observes all the toms in her Clan from afar. All of them are arrogant, lazy cats that treat her like an objection. So, she results to more drastic measures.
   At the next Gathering, she studies every tom there. She finally decided to talk to a small ShadowClan tom named Rapidblaze. The tom instantly falls for her, and she begrudgingly informs him that she "wants to be his mate."
   Two moons later, Goldensong is expecting kits. Rapidblaze is furious, and refuses to be involved in the kits' lives. Heartbroken, Goldensong returns to WindClan and is about to reveal the kits' father, when a tom named Rookwing steps up and declares that they are his. The Clan cheers, and Goldensong speaks to him after. He informs her that he knew about her relationship with Rapidblaze, and saw him yell at her about the kits. He offered to help raise them, and Goldensong was vets grateful.
   Goldensong raised three healthy, happy kits with her new mate, and proceeded to have many more litters after. She is grateful that Rookwing treats her like a normal cat, and is now happy with her position in WindClan.
