Cheryl's pov:
Monday 4:12
After school
I am walking through the small town of Riverdale to get to Pop's for another long shift. These long shifts tire me out so much, but it's all worth it because I get to see her. Toni Topaz, the shy girl in school and personally I think the hottest, cutest, most adorable girl I've ever seen. Now, I've never really talked to her because well, she doesn't really talk to anyone. She's kind of a loner, doesn't really like to be around people but once I finally get the courage to ask her out, I hope she will come out off her shell a little. That is IF I ever get the courage. I have been trying to talk to her since the 8th grade but I always chicken out. The only words I've ever said to her were "hey, table 6 is ready" like, could I get anymore pathetic then that? Whatever, I'm pushing all of that aside and today is the day I ask Toni Topaz on a date.
I arrived at Pop's and noticed that Veronica was the only one there at the moment so I went over to talk to her while I wait for my shift to start.
I walked over to the counter and said "hey" and she just stared at me weirdly. "What" I snapped in a harsh voice, but it's what she gets for staring at me without saying anything.
"Sooo?" She asked as if I knew what she was talking about.
"So, what?" I snapped back getting annoyed at this point.
"Are you going to do it today?" She asked with raised eyebrows.
"Ugh, do what" I said annoyed.
"Are you gonna ask out Toni today or what?" She asked.
"Umm" I paused thinking a little before saying "I actually don't know but we will see what happens now won't we".
"Ok, well you better think of something quick because here she comes" she answered looking behind me.
I looked behind myself and saw the goddess that is Toni Topaz walking through the door with a plain, yet adorable look on her face and her apron in one hand and her jacket in the other. I couldn't stop staring at her before Veronica elbowed my arm making me look away noticing I was probably staring for too long. Toni walked passed me to get behind the counter but not before she did something I never thought would happen. She smiled and waved at me than walked behind the counter and into the back room. My heart felt like it just burst in my chest and I thought I was going to die.
1 hour later...
It's officially been an hour since the most beautiful girl in the world smiled and waved at me and I was still try to get the courage to ask her the question I've been waiting to ask her for so long. I'm at a table right now not really paying attention to the customers, but I was watching Toni at the cash register. I was snapped out of my thoughts when the lady I was supposed to be taking an order from said "uhm, excuse me"
"Sorry, what was that?" I asked turning back to her.
"I said, can I please get a vanilla milkshake with a cheeseburger and a medium fry?" She asked looking kind of annoyed with me but I couldn't really blame her for that.
"Oh, sure coming right up" I said walking back to the counter but on my way there I saw THE Toni Topaz, girl of my dreams, staring at me and letting out the cutest little giggle I have ever heard.
"Get a little distracted staring at me Blossom?" She asked me and my mouth mentally dropped.
Omg, she saw that!?
At this point I was full on blushing because I had been caught. I tried to play it off safe by saying "so what if I was" with every last bit of confidence I had left in me.
She just smiled at me then walked away to take an order. I gave pop the order I took then walked behind the register.
Wow this girl is gonna be the death of me.
Two hours later...
It was now 7:22pm and my shift was over about ten minutes ago. I was sitting in a booth on my phone not really wanting to go home to my demon of a mother so I decided to stay here for a while. I was on Instagram when Toni walked up to my table and said "are you going to order something, or just sit there alone in a booth on your phone doing absolutely nothing like you have been for the past twenty minutes?"
I looked up at her and let out a nervous laugh then replied with "I will h-have a strawberry m-milkshake please"
She chuckled a little then said "coming right up"
After she left I mentally slapped myself for stuttering like a complete idiot. She came back about five minutes later and set the milkshake in front of me then she did something I never thought she would. She sat in front of me. I was screaming with excitement on the inside. I have been waiting for this day since I was fifteen years old. We sat in silence for a while untill finally she spoke up and said
"Ok listen, I have actually liked you for a couple of years now and today when you were flirting with me it gave me confidence to come talk to you and I just thought you should know how I feel. But, if your about to reject me please tell me now so I have time to run away" she said it so fast I was left in shock.
She likes me too? Is this really happening? What do I say now?
All of these thoughts were go through my head I didn't know what to do so I did this,
"I like you too" I whispered so quietly I'd be surprised if she even heard me. It seems like she did because next thing I know her lips were on mine. It took me awhile to realize what was going on before I finally kissed back. Our lips moved in sync before we both pulled away for air.
"Wow" she said with the biggest smile on her face.
"Yeah, wow" I laughed.
"Soo, what happens now?" She asked as she scooted a little closer to me.
"Um, Toni Topaz would you like to go on a date with me on Wednesday?" I asked still kinda nervous for her answer.
"I would love to" she smiled up at me.
And that's how I met my soulmate.
