Cheryl's pov:
I have been trying to ask this girl out on a date for about three weeks now and so far I have chickened out every time. See, I work at bath and body works at the Riverdale Mall and the girl I want to ask out works right across from me in Gucci. Her name is Toni Topaz and she is simply the most stunning person I've ever seen. Every time I go in there to ask her out, I end up just buying things so I don't look suspicious. I've probably spent over a thousand dollars there for things I will never even use.
I really like Toni but I know she doesn't like me back. I mean, who would want to date a glasses wearing, weirdo like me anyway? I'll tell you who. NO ONE.
I'm currently at work, thinking about Toni of course, while I restock the scented location when someone taps me on the shoulder. I turn around to see someone I didn't think would even consider coming in here.
"Hey, do you guys have anymore of the lavender scented bath bombs?" Toni asked in that beautiful, soothing voice.
"O-oh, I t-think we might have s-some in the b-back" I studderd, trying not to embarrass myself in front of my crush.
"Ok, well do you think I could get two of them?" She kindly asked.
"S-sure"
I nervously walked away, her following me. She stopped behind the counter while I went to the back room to get the bath bombs. When I came back she was patiently waiting, picking at her nails.
"Just t-two?" God why was I so embarrassing?
"Yep, just two" she smiled.
I almost melted, seeing her smile.
After she paid, she winked at me and said,
"See you later, beautiful"
I stood there in shock as I watched her walk out and around the corner.
Omg! Was she talking to me!? Did that really just happen?
My shift was soon over and I said goodbye to Betty, my coworker, best friend, and cousin. While I was walking home I heard a noise in one of the alleyways. As I got closer to it, I realized it was crying, sobbing almost. When I turned in the alleyways, I saw something I never thought I would have. THE Toni Topaz, curled up in a ball sobbing while holding her arm. She must have heard me getting closer because she flinched and hid her face.
"Hey, I'm not going to hurt you" I said calmly.
She slowly looked up and when she saw it was me she started crying even more. I slowly sat beside her and almost immediately after I did that, she hugged me tight like if she let go I would disappear. When I hugged her back I noticed her arm all cut up with pieces of glass sticking out.
"Let's get you to my place and get you cleaned up, yeah?"
She didn't reply, just nodded her head on my shoulder as let go of me. We both got up and started walking to my house.
When we got to my place I unlocked the door and led her inside and up the stairs. When we got to my room I sat her on the bed while I made my way over to the bathroom to get the medical stuff to clean her arm.
We sat in silence as I cleaned out her arm until I decided to speak up.
"If you don't mind me asking, how did this happen?"
She sighed before saying,
"Some bad people from my past jumped me"
I didn't want to push her to far so I just nodded and finished up her bandage.
"All done" I smiled.
"Thank you so much, Cheryl this means a lot to me"
"No problem Toni"
"Well, I guess I will get out of your hair and be on my way then" she said grabbing her jacket. She was about to leave my room but I didn't want my time with her to end so I grabbed her unhurt arm and turned her around.
"Please don't go. I mean, it just gets lonely being here by myself sometimes" I said nervously. God I probably sounded desperate.
It looked like she was thinking about for a second.
"Okay I guess I could stay" she smiled.
I smiled back not knowing, this is were my life would soon change.
