"I don't want to go to school today," Dalia said walking into the kitchen with wet hair since she took a shower, so she didn't smell like alcohol.
"Why? Do you not feel good?" Laura asked. Dalia nodded her head. "I'm sick," she said in a fake nasally voice and added a little cough at the end.
Everyone looked at Dalia oddly knowing she was facing. She cursed at herself in her head for doing too much.
"Yeah, you're going to school," Laura said. "Noo, Mom. I don't feel good. Please. Please," Dalia begged grabbing into her mother's arm. "Why don't you really wanna go?" Spencer asked with a laugh.
Dali glared at him. "That is the reason. I'm sick." "You're not sick, baby. Go get ready," Billy told her. "Ughhh, you guys suck," Dalia complained.
Dalia did a blowout on her wet hair and put on some makeup with winged eyeliner.
Dalia ran downstairs where no one was anymore and contemplated on eating breakfast. She decided to skip it and told herself she'd eat lunch. She didn't want to be late anyways.
She got in her car and drove to school.
The day went by as it usually does. Schoolwork and cheer practice. Lydia and Dalia weren't as cheery as usual of course, but they made sure to spend every minute they could together.

Dalia and Lydia were hanging out in Dalia's very messy room when there was a knock on her door. "Come in." Their eyes widened seeing Darnell there.
"Hey," Darnell said. "Um, I'm gonna go. I'll talk to you later," Lydia told Dalia before saying goodbye to the two.
She closed the door behind her after sticking a thumbs up at Dalia. "Uh, excuse the mess. I didn't think anyone other than Lydia would be coming in."
"Don't worry about it, D. I was just here, because I wanted to see if you wanted to go to the movies with me."
"You rode three busses here to ask me to go to the movies?" Dalia said. "Thought it'd make it harder for you to say no," Darnell told her making them laugh.
"Yeah, totally. Let me just get my phone and some money." "Aye, no. Told ya I was paying next time."
Dalia giggled, "Fine. Let's go then." They got in Dalia's car and made their way to the movie theater. He bought a bunch of snacks and food for them, and the two ate as they watched the movie. Dalia tried to not think about all the junk food she was eating and enjoyed her time with Darnell. They whispered comments to each other during the movie.
After the movie, they walked towards her car. "That was the worst ending ever," Dalia said. Darnell agreed, "Why didn't he just pull her in with him?" Darnell asked. "I know. He definitely had the strength."
