Monday

I woke up to the gentle chirps coming from the window pane. Their sweet song was striking enough to wake me. I decided to take a shower as early as possible because today, today is the big day.

I let the warm shower water rush down my body. Cleansing. I quickly dried myself and dressed up, ready by 6:30am. I went over my announcement notes. However, there was one thing that I really needed to do.

At that moment, I reached for my phone in my pocket and dialed a number.

Ringing.

The called connected.

"Good morning." the voice said

"Good morning to you too." I replied.

"So why'd you call?"

"I wanted to tell you that I thought about. I thought about us. I want us to be together."

"I'm glad you said that. I love you."

"I love you too." I replied.

"Hey, Nadie," I went on, "would you like to run for Blossom Queen with me?"

"Absolutely! I'd be honoured, my Blossom King." she closed.

We both let out a laugh of relief.

"Meet me in twenty?" I asked

"Sure. See you."

"Bye."

She hung up.

I'm glad that I found someone who genuinely likes me back. I'm not gonna let go of her.

Walking through the corridor, I noticed that Paul's room light was on therefore he's most likely awake. I guess I'll catch up to him later because I needed to announce to the school newspaper reporters that I'm running for 'Blossom King'.

I went straight to the sitting area behind the cafeteria because I didn't feel like eating anything. I sat down, noticing the emptiness of my surroundings. The trees were swaying gently and the leaves were being blown softly around. The atmosphere felt easy; I could sense the restfulness around me.

I heard footsteps approaching, getting louder by the second. I decided to turn my head to see who was coming. It was my new-found girlfriend looking as beautiful as ever. She was with my ex-crush Gena, walking side by side.

"Hey there!" said Gena

"Hi, how's it going? You left that day without a goodbye."

"Yeah, don't worry about that. It was an emergency. I had to sort something things out."

"If you say so."

"Anyway, Nadie told me a few moments ago that you're running with her for Blossom King and Queen."

"Yeah, it'd be an interesting experience."

"Well, you have my vote as Forest Queen. If I support you, a bunch of people will have your vote too." she assumed. "So, how's about it? Can I help?"

"Well, it's not like it's my choice anyway. I mean, you're her best friend."

We all laughed.

"Glad we're in agreement." said Nadia.

"Oh, have you thought of a few words to say while announcing your running with me?"

"Of course. I'm usually prepared for the worst these days."
