SKYLAR POV

After the events that happened earlier this morning, I decided to suck it up and ignore it all. It's not like it'll happen again. If it does, I'll be sure to avoid it all. Standing in front of the entrance to the school hallway, I checked the time on my phone and it read 7:15. Oh, shit!!!!! I'll be late again and Mr. Wilson will kill me if I don't make it! I began racing through the corridor like a mad dog. As I passed people, they all were confused as to why I was running. If only they knew....

I decided to slow down as I was already close to the classroom. I spotted my best friend Harry by the lockers. He was always punctual, unlike me. He was talking to a few other people I knew: Charles and Michael. By the looks of it, they were probably arguing about who's a better rapper between DaBaby and Roddy Ricch as usual. There was no end to that argument. Mainly because Harry was a stubborn prick. Aside from that, Harry is a great guy. He's always there for me and I feel like I can tell him anything. Harry dyed his hair grey last week. It kinda suits him. All of his friends love it so it's definitely a good thing.

Still watching from a distant, I saw that Charles and Michael were leaving and Harry was waving goodbye. It appears it's my turn to attack Harry.

"Mornin', Harry! How's it been? Did I miss anything?" I bombarded him with question.

"No buddy, you didn't miss anything. It was the usual debate between rappers."

"I knew it. Y'all are so predictable.".

At that moment, a thought bumped me. I decided to tell Harry about what happed with that senior earlier this morning.

"Hey, is everything okay?" he asked. I guess I zoned out again. Idiot.

"I can tell you anything, right?"

"Of course, but if you wanna say something, we might wanna move away from here. Let's go to the corner over there so I can hear you well."

In the midst of all the shouts and screams that shattered the air in the hallway, I began telling him what happened. I told him about my first impression of the guy who hit me and how sad it made me feel that someone would do that out of nowhere. I didn't mention that I cried because I felt like I shouldn't tell him how pitiful I was.

"Sky, I'm sure you'll get over it. I'm also sure that this guy is just some pathetic thug with some loose insecurities. You'll be fine. Don't think too much about it."

"Alright, I guess I'll just shove it at the back of my mind."

At that moment, the screams and shout in the hallway came to a standstill. The cause of the silence must have been around me so I turned around to see what was going on. That thing that I shoved at the back of my mind came right back to the front.

"Is that the guy that hit you?" asked Harry.

He and his friends were coming out of the cafeteria and they all looked menacing. They were all casually dressed but he stood out the most because he ruined my morning. His friends all looked cool and calm but he had on the face of a devil. A wrongdoer.

"Is that the guy you were talking about? Your face is literally boiling with anger just looking at him." said Harry, instinctively.

"Yes. It's him."

"Whoa, I did not expect you of all people to come across him. He is like the top dog of the basketball team," informed Harry, "and no one is dumb enough to come across him. He's like one of those stereotypical bullies you shouldn't make mad. Enough about him. Let's just hope you guys don't meet again."

"I see. I should just let it be then." I replied.

Disappointment was written on my face as the noise in the hallway sprung back up. I checked the time and it was 7:25. I have 5 more minutes but this teacher dude locks the classroom at 7:28 so I must run again.

"See you in 2nd period, Harry! This guy is gonna eat me alive if I'm late!"

"Later, man!"

I reached the door at 7:27 with a minute to spare. I opened the door and saw that Mr. Wilson had already started teaching. He stopped writing on the board and his gaze fell on me. A few other people in the classroom also stared at me.

"What did I tell you about not being punctual, Mr. Anderson?"

"Sir, I was-"

"If you're going to make an excuse, you better make it believable because this is the second time this week. Never mind. Sit down. We will discuss this at the end, right before you go to your next class."

"Yes, sir." I hurried to my seat close to the window.

Staring out the window, I noticed that the school yard look so serene when students aren't there. The trees were losing leaves. Autumn colors carpeted the grass floor, almost enveloping it. There were still some patches of green here and there but all in all, it looked really beautiful.

Class carried on.

"Alright class, I have an important assignment to give you at the end of next lesson so get yourselves prepared to receive something heavy. A reminder for Skylar to remain behind. See you all next lesson."

I waited for everyone else in the room to clear. I scuffled over to Mr. Wilson's desk.

I sensed a coming storm.

"AS YOU KNOW VERY WELL," he said, "your grades are dropping and your average along with it. You've been coming late to class and you've begun a tendency where you lose focus in class and stare out of the window. Just what is outside that is more important than your own grade?

"Sir, there is nothing more important than my grade in the class." I replied.

"Are you sure about that?" he remarked.

"Most certain, sir."

"If you say so. Next lesson, I will assign a pair assignment with my other Business class and I expect you to give it your all because this project has the power to make or break your grade."

"Alright sir."

"Okay now hurry off to your next class before you're late."

"Yes, sir."

After closing the door behind me, I begun walking through the empty corridor to the Physics class. At least 2nd period means I sit next to Harry.
I walked in with the lesson having already started.

Physics was my favorite class, not because of the learning but because the teacher gave us free time to discuss, which most of us would talk. At that free time, I told Harry about what Mr. Wilson said and he offered to be my partner so it would be easier to work with.

Class ended and everyone cleared the room because it was lunch time. As I and Harry were going to the cafeteria, that guy who hit me in the morning was approaching us alone. As he passed us, he gave me a glare. It was like he was staring into my soul.

"Wow, that guy is really bad news." said Harry. "He may not have been looking at me, but I could feel the tension between you guys."

"I'll just leave it like you said."
