Amaya
"Amma! Look at the sky there is a triple rainbow." I yelled for my mom looking at the sky.
This looks so beautiful and peaceful. I am living with my mom and dad. It's so pleasant here. I wanna stay here forever.
"Wow! That looks so beautiful. Just like my daughter." Mom said, she kissed me on the cheek and sat beside me on the deck of the house.
"When is dad gonna come home? Also, can he get us cake and cookies to eat?" I asked mom
"Anything for you honey. Let me call him and come back." She said and left me.
I'm loving it here, the only problem is I don't see anyone except for them. I have these weird dreams at times. I can feel someone holding my hand and crying in silence. I could hear an 11-year-old and 15-year-old fighting about their sister. And about this one girl who's pregnant and talks a lot about her baby and her sister and a guy along with her consoling her. I hear an old lady blaming her husband for something and a warm comforting lady crying and saying wake up.
My dreams are getting weird these days. I'm hearing voices right now. I should go to the doctor. I told mom about it, but she just ignores it when it comes to this topic.
I can feel the voices getting louder.
"Ammu's gonna kill you if you do that. Don't put the cake on her face, she hates it when you do that." I heard the 15-year-old boy yelling at someone.
"At least, she is gonna wake up to do that. It's been a month, why is she not walking up?" Asked the 11-year-old.
"Guys, she will be okay. When she wakes up we all are gonna go out and have an ice cream party. We can go to whatever place you like." said a lady who talks about babies a lot.
I heard the kid giggle and the door squeak.
"Honey! Dad got the cake and cookies you wanted. Let's go eat." Mom said
"Mom! Why am I still getting those dreams?" I asked her, my head is in her lap and my dad is on the other couch.
She looked at mom and shook his head asking her not to reveal anything to me. What are they hiding from me?
"Don't worry about it. They will go away. Eat some more." Dad said to me but mom is disappointed with his answer.
"I can take it, mom. Tell me." I asked her to tell me. She kept brushing my hair with her fingers and it felt so good.
"I know this might hurt you, All the life you are leading right now is a phantasm, a mirage you created to protect yourself from the pain of rejection." She said and I don't understand, it made me sit up.
What does she mean by a mirage? What is she saying? How can this be a phantasm when I can feel her touch?
"After Jameson broke up with you, you couldn't bear what happened so you made this mirage to keep yourself happy. This is not real Amaya." She told me holding my hands.
When she said the name Jameson, I started to remember his beautiful face. My head and heart began to hurt a lot. Why does it hurt so much? I can't take this. I held my head and closed my ears not wanting to hear anything.
"I told you not to tell her. Look at her she is suffering." Dad yelled at my mom.
But each word I hear is piercing my heart. I can't take this pain anymore. My legs and every inch of my body hurts. I feel like I'm being crushed under a huge rock.
