Jameson
"Jameson, This way, let's go before it gets dark. My grandfather is gonna kill us if he won't find us in the house," yelled Amaya.
I was walking slowly because I was walking in a wet puddle of mud. God knows why I trust Amaya, she said that she was gonna take me to a local dance show going on in the village.
Before we could reach there someone caught us and informed her grandfather. So, we are taking a shortcut to reach her home faster which is through the luscious green fields.
"My legs are covered in mud and I can't walk like this Amaya. I'm gonna make you pay." I told her walking as fast as I could in this puddle. Amaya and Jaya were waiting for me.
India has been amazing so far. All these endless captivating greenery, animals, the fresh air. I even saw how to milk a Buffalo and a Cow.
The people here always have a smile on their faces and everyone here treats Amaya like their own child. I don't even know who my neighbors are back home and look at her reigning here as if she belongs in this place.
But Amaya's grandpa is a scary man. He is like a Mayor of this village, if anyone has a problem where they will come to him. He gave me an Are you messing with my baby? look when he met me. It was so intimidating that my hands started to sweat.
When it comes to Amaya he has a completely different personality altogether. She is the only person he smiles at. As far as the Intel I gathered from Jaya and her grandma she and her sister are his weakness. We ran towards the house and got in from the backdoor. Jaya ran towards the kitchen as she is the only person who was not covered in mud.
Amaya and I went into the dining room and sat at the table so no one could see our legs. Her grandma joined us and Amaya asked her to cover up for us.
"Saro, Is Ammu in the house? Raju was saying that he saw Ammu, Jaya, and the white guy at the dance show," he yelled coming into the house followed by the snitch who told on us.
He had a sense of relief passing through his face when he saw Amaya, and he gave me a poker face. We don't talk a lot with each other but her grandma is the sweetest of all.
"I'm here grandpa what happened?" Amaya said with an innocent voice. Everyone in the world would believe that we didn't run all the way back through mud puddles. The Raju guy looks blown by her innocent act.
"Never mind, I have a meeting with Chandra, don't even think of trying to go and watch the dance show. It's not for kids. Saro, make sure she never leaves." he said and left.
We all took a deep breath in relief after he left, me and Amaya went for a shower. We came back and ate dinner. The only thing I'm having a problem with here is the food. It's way too spicy for me. Grandma cooks it mild for me separately but that's also too spicy for me.
I'm loving my time here, I never spent a day without the Internet in my life but it's been 2 days here I never thought about work. I communicate with Andrew and my dad through their landline. My parents know that I came to India for her and my dad was glad that I took this step. He suggested some places for me to visit.
"Maa! Where is Amaya?" I asked Amaya's Grandma who was praying in a room. She stays in that room every night.
"She is talking to her grandpa. They both are sitting outside. Ramu came by this evening and gave us an internet connection here are the login details." she said and handed me a paper with the username and password.
"Thanks maa, you don't have to do this for me. It was great living without the internet." She gave a warm smile and said
"Amaya said that you own a big company, and you might need it for your business purposes. Arjun and Dhruv ask for it every time so it's for them too. Sit here and join me." I took off my flip-flops and tried to sit like her and looked around not knowing what to do.
