It was a nice spring day.

While driving, I saw children playing in parks and couples walking togehter. Everyone seemed to be laughing and having a good time.

Everyone but me.

I parked in the driveway of my destination and got out of my car.
My eyes met with the sight of a tall red brick house.

There was a front garden with well-cared flowers and a nice stone pathway leading to the front door.

Looking at this house, you would expect a happy family living there. A family full of smiles and joy.

You would be absolutely wrong.

I knocked on the front door and a woman opened the door.

She looked like she was a few years older than me and had very noticeable dark circles.

"Are you Jihoon?" She asks
When I nodded my head, she lets me in and we sit on her dining room table.

"My parents aren't home by the way. I don't think they're ready to meet you yet."

I told her I understood and silence filled the room for a moment.

"So... can you start from the beginning?" She finally asks.

I close my eyes and tried to remember as much as I could.

"Me and Y/N met in university. She never talked about her life after high school and she told me she was an orphan."

"Did she ever mention me?"
The girl asked.

I nodded as she sighed in relieve.
"She told me that you lived far away. Y/N loved you, she really did."

"So what was she like in high school?" I asked the woman.

"Y/N was a happy and energetic kid. She was the one that everyone depended on the most. That all changed when she started being rebellious in high school." She replied.

I noticed that her voice was cracking and tears started to fall on her cheeks.

"When she ran away, nobody seemed cared anymore."

Flashback
"How come you never tell me about your past?" I asked Y/N.

She was lying on my lap and facial expression suddenly changed.

"I just don't like talking about it... I was average I guess", she said in a monotone voice.

"Can you be more detailed? You only ever told me you have a sister." I said as I brushed her hair between my fingers.
Y/N sat up quickly and put a fake smile on her face.

"Do you want to go to the park? It's a nice day."

She was clearly changing the subject like countless other times. I let this one slide for now.
