Hogwarts AU: Soonyoung

"Soonyoung? Hello?" I say, waving my hands in front of his face to gain his attention. He's staring at the girl across the Potions classroom, ruining the sizes of herbs that he's slicing right now.

"Isn't she just, so amazing?" Soonyoung says in a dreamy tone, still staring at her.

"You know that she's dating Yoon Jeonghan, right?" I say, rolling my eyes. "I know...but I can't help it." he says.

The class ends and the professor dismisses everybody. I stand up to leave, and clap my hand on his shoulder as a goodbye.

Soonyoung his head over heels for Jeonghan's girlfriend, and everyone knows it. He writes love letters in his notebook that he never sends, and even has the audacity to show them to me to ask if they're good enough.

As you can tell, I'm jealous.

Sure, she's a nice girl, and I get why every boy would like her. The only problem is that Soonyoung never notices me.

Me and Soonyoung are friends, but we're not so close. We don't hang out or talk a lot apart from class.

Soonyoung is shy, clumsy and doesn't like to talk to anyone other than me. He's often even seen as the 'lonely' one.

I'm the one that actually talks to him and makes sure that he's okay. I'm the shoulder that he cries on when he needs it. I'm the one that helps him through everything and sacrifice my own house points. Heck, I've even flirted with him a million times.

Yet, he never sees me the way I see him.

When I leave the classroom, I think of how nice it would be if Soonyoung talked to me in that way, I get distracted and run into someone. It's Joshua, Seungcheol, Jeonghan and his girlfriend. Without me even noticing, I give her a hard stare.

"Umm... hi?"

Joshua jumps into the situation. "You guys go, I need to talk with Y/N for a second." The others walk away and leave us alone.

"Y/N? You okay? You've been acting weird lately." Joshua asks, crossing his arms.

Joshua is my cousin, so we met each other on a weekly basis as kids and our families meet when we go away for the holidays.

"Yeah, yeah, I'm fine." I say. "No, you're not. What was the point of that?" He says.

I know that I can't stop lying anymore. "You know Soonyoung?" I say. He nods.

"You know that she likes her, right?" He nods again. I bite my lip, avoiding eye contact with him struggling to get out the words.

"I'm jealous..." I say.
Joshua is silent for a moment.
"Wait, you like him?" He asks in disbelief.

I nod, and Joshua starts laughing at me.
"Kwon Soonyoung?! Out of all the guys in Hogwarts?" He's actually choking on his laughter.

"Hey! Don't laugh!"
I have to actual wait for him to stop laughing.

"So why don't you just tell him you like him?" Joshua asks while wiping tears of laughter from his eyes.
"I..." My voice trails off.

He's right. Why don't I just tell him?
What's holding me back?

"Thanks, Josh. I'll see you later!" I say.
Then I start to run.

Where would Soonyoung be right now? Probably the courtyard. So I run to the courtyard, but I stop when I see him in a hallway I pass by.

I hide behind the wall and peek.
He's standing and talking to a girl.
I think it's his crush for a second, but it's not.

Soonyoung is stuttering while talking to her.
