Pain.
All I feel is pain. My entire body feels like it's on fire.
I open my eyes and am blinded by the bright light. I look around and see that I'm out of my school uniform and in a hospital gown, an IV is attached to my arm with blood bag connected to it, a nasal cannula in my nose and patches with colored wires stuck to my chest monitoring my heart rate.
What the fuck happened?! I thought. I hear the door slide open, a woman with four arms comes in.
"Hi, (y/n). I'm your nurse, Miyuki. Do you know where you are?" She asked in a calm voice.
"No, where's my mom?! What happened to me?!" I shrieked. I felt nauseous, I could feel my throat begin to constrict.
"You're at the Miyagi's Children Hospital, (y/n). I'm going to call your mom for you and you, your mother and the doctor will discuss what happened, ok?"
"Ok..." I said in a small voice. She nodded and left for the nurses station as I sat in silence putting the pieces together. I was on my way to school when I passed the old abandoned building on the outskirts of town when I was hit by a bright blue light and then.... blank. I looked around for my personal belongings but all I had was a burnt cell phone and a singed backpack.
I hope the teacher accepts late work. I thought as I waited for my mom to arrive.
Sometime later she bursts through the door looking like a disheveled mess.
"(Y/n)!!!" She wraps her arms around me and cries.
"I'm so glad you're ok. Izuku and I were so worried about you!!"She peppered my head with kisses and let out a sigh of relief.
"How long have I been out?"
She darted her eyes to the side, unsure of how to answer.
"You've been in a coma for three months, we weren't sure if you'd ever wake up.."
"THREE MONTHS?! ARE YOU SERIOUS?!!" I yelled. Now I really felt like I was gonna hurl.
It wasn't long after our reunion until Dr. Fiyuri came by, who was a rather intimidating man towering over my mother sporting black facial hair and an eyepatch over his left eye. He explained what had happened; apparently there was a gas leak in that old abandoned building and it exploded in a fiery blaze.
"But what about the blue light that I saw?" I tried to ask the doctor but he just waved his hand in dismissal.
"That was probably a mix of flammable chemicals stored in the building. According to police and fire department reports; that building had a history of illegal drug manufacturing. Anyways, I'm going to discharge you and physical therapy will work with you at home. Let me know if anything else happens ok?"
"Ok doctor, thank you." My mom said as she gently squeezed my hand. He promptly left , leaving me alone with mom once again.
"This is so exciting! I'm gonna throw a big celebration when we get home, I'll cook all your favorite foods and I'll..." As she droned on about the impromptu party and I thought about what he said. Something didn't add up and I had a strange feeling that wouldn't be the last of Dr. Fiyuri.
