The morning sun was shining brightly as I headed toward the entrance exam building. Anxiety and hope was thick in the air as aspiring heroes filled the seats of the examination room. Noticing an empty spot in the front row, I approached a black haired boy and tapped a him on the shoulder.

"Is this seat taken?" I ask.

He turns his head toward me and grins with his razor sharp teeth on full display.

"No go right ahead! I'm Kirishima Eijiro!!"

I return his cheesy grin and sit next to him. "Nice to meet you, I'm (y/n) Ishida," seeing as there's 5 more minutes until the exam starts, I decide to break the ice.

"I don't know about you, Kirishima, but I'm super nervous! I'm horrible at taking tests!"

He nods his head in agreement, "me too, I could barely sleep last night. I've been dreaming of going to UA since I first watched the Sports Festival." He looks at me intensely and narrows his eyes.

"Say, you look familiar... Oh! You're that girl that got blasted by the drug cartel! Glad to see that you're doing all right!"

"Oooh yeah, recovering from that was a real challenge," I chuckled nervously and scratched the side of my neck, "but.... if I can get through that, I can certainly get through this!" I fist pumped and beamed brightly at Kirishima.

His face turns a light shade of pink in response and smiles brightly, "that's the spirit!! I'm confident we're both gonna do great in these exams!" Before I could say anymore, the exam proctor introduces themselves and we promptly start our test.

The written portion of the exam took a couple hours and since I studied like crazy, the questions were easy to answer but now comes the fun part, the practicum. This is where we get to strut our stuff and prove to everyone why we deserve to be a hero.

We all gather in an auditorium where the flamboyant prohero, Present Mic, provides the instructions on the second portion of our exam.

"like your application says, all you rockin boys and girls will be conducting a mock battles in super, hip urban settings! After I draw the lot, you'll head to your specified battle centers, sound good?"

I look at my card and see that I was placed in center "G."

I wonder where Izu and Kirishima were placed? I thought to myself.

As Present Mic gave his spiel, some wet-blanket points out some flaw in the instruction manual and even calls out Izuku for mumbling to himself. I glared at the pointy eyebrowed boy, woooow what an ass.

Present Mic then goes into more detail about the types of robots we'll be fighting and the 0 pointer. As he concludes his speech, he goes on to say; "as General Napoleon Bonaparte laid down; a true hero is one who overcomes life's misfortunes."

Once the speech was over, we all head to locker rooms where we change into our battle clothes. While I originally planned on wearing my sports bra and leggings, Fury and Yon-Rogg gave me a standard issue SHIELD uniform with matching combat boots as a good luck gift. While the suit was very form fitting, the materiel was somehow breathable and was even fire and bulletproof!

(AN: I imagined it like this or like Black Widow's suit but you can imagine whatever you want ;D)

With my suit on and boots laced. I stood in front of enormous brown doors surrounded by high grey concrete walls. I could feel eyes on me as all the other students just wore their gym clothes from middle school. I even caught some weirdo with purple balls on his head drooling at me. Creep...

Taking a deep breath, I center myself and concentrate on what's behind those doors.

"RIGHT LET'S GET MOVING!!" Present Mic yells over the intercom as the doors slowly open. Before anyone could react, I spring into action and sprint toward the nearest robot I saw. I focused my power into my fist and fired an energy blast. The direct hit to its head caused its body to smoke and shut down.

Alright!! 2 points!! Piece of cake. I thought to myself.

The other students were catching up to me and seemed to be in awe at my quirk. I smirked to myself and got some distance from the others in search of more bots to destroy. 1 point, 1 point, 3 points... The bots were almost too easy to take down. Just as I was about to crush a 3 pointer, the ground starts to shake and an enormous 0 pointer enters the field, scraping the sides of the buildings it passes. I was about to run away when I hear a cry for help, someone severely injured their leg by falling debris and was in the direct path of the zero pointer. That girl is going to die! Panic swells inside me and I try to focus the energy into my hands but the inhibitor in my neck gives me a vicious shock that puts me on my knees. I clutch my neck and look around. It's only me and her.

Fuck!  With no one else there to help her, I sprint toward her as fast as my legs could carry me. My lungs and quads were on fire but I pushed through the pain as I was trained to do, grabbed her and moved us out of the zero pointer's path. We both laid on the ground in pain.

"Are you ok?" I panted.

The girl clutching her injured leg, she nods her head. "Yeah I am, thanks to you."

I made a sigh in relief. "I'm glad." We both hear Present Mic's voice in the distance telling us that the exams over with sirens blaring. As for the girl, even though she protested, I carried her over to the first aid tent where Recovery Girl kissed her and made it better.

Seeing as I was no longer needed, I exited the battle center and headed home feeling confident that I would be in the Hero's Course.
