It wasn't long after I got home from the exam that I got a call from a very anxious Izuku. Apparently he didn't get any points during the practical but was somehow able to destroy his 0 pointer. I still haven't seen his newfound quirk in action but it sounds like he has even worse control of his quirk than I do.
"Relax, Izuku, you're gonna be fine. You saved that girl right? That's gotta count for something!" And you have All Might training you... I added in my mind.
"I know, I know but that's the most important part of the entrance exam and I'm pretty sure I barely passed the written portion!"
I sighed, "look, what's done is done. You just have to wait until the results come in. If we don't get in, we'll eat junk food, watch All Might movies and cry ourselves to sleep, ok?"
"Ok." He said in a small voice.
"Everything's gonna be alright, I promise. If we can't get into UA, then we explore other routes to becoming a hero. In the meantime, keep up with your training. Don't want to get flabby!" I said, trying to lighten the mood. There was a long pause before he responded.
"Thanks (y/n), you always know what to say. It means a lot to me."
"I'm always here for you."
We didn't talk much after that as we were too wrapped up in ourselves to call or text. A week later I get my letter...
Mom is jumping up and down with the letter in her hands.
"It's here, it's finally here! Let's open it!"She said enthusiastically, handing it to me as if it was a Nobel Peace Prize.
"Thanks Mom, but I actually want to open this in private."
Mom crosses her arms and pouts, "fine!"
I roll my eyes at her and head to the privacy of my room. I sat on my bed and laid the envelop on it. I broke the red wax seal, only to find a metal disc inside. The disc lights up to create a projection, showing EraserHead with in messy hair gelled back neatly, wearing a black suit.
"EraserHead!" I gasped in surprise.
"Yes, it's me. Who did you expect, All Might?"
I shrugged my shoulders as he continued, "you did well on both the written and the practical portions of the exam and ranked in 3rd place with 30 villain points and 50 rescue points. However, you need to work on your hotheadedness. You pushed too hard in the beginning and were running on steam toward the end. Had you not jumped the gun at the start, you may have been able to save that girl AND cause some damage on that 0 pointer."
I crossed my arms and huffed, "I would have been able to destroy the 0 pointer if it weren't for this stupid inhibitor you and Fury put on me..."
Eraser glared back, "don't be stupid, (y/n). You know as well as I do that you could have easily killed yourself and everyone there if it weren't for that 'stupid inhibitor' as you so eloquently put it. The power of the Tessaract is not something to be trifled with."
I pursed my lips. Damn if he isn't right. It's been 10 months and the most I can do shoot blasts out of my fists.
"Yeah.. I see what you're saying.."
He nods, "anyways, you're going to be placed in Hero course 1-A with me as your homeroom teacher. Only call me Aizawa from here on out unless I say so and remember to keep the SHIELD business a secret, only the faculty are aware of your situation. Got it?"
I gave him a two finger salute "you got it boss."
He narrowed his dry AF eyes at me, "Good. I'll be seeing you." The metal disc stopped projecting and I could feel the adrenaline pulse through my body. It's finally happening, I'm going to be a hero! I give Izuku a call, hoping that he received the good news as well.
"Hey Izu-"
"I GOT IN!!" He screamed into the phone. I could hear him laughing hysterically while his mom was cheering in the background. I made the biggest smile into the phone, "That's great news, I'm so happy for you!! I got in too, so we'll definitely be seeing each other and I'll be sure to copy your homework too." I snickered.
"Uh huh sure." He gave a pause, "can you believe it (y/n)? I'm gonna be a hero, it's the only thing I've ever dreamed of and it's starting to come into fruition."
"Yeah I can't believe it either Izu-kun."
"Thank you, (y/n)."
"For what?" I asked.
"For believing in me. For always being there for me and for.... being you."
My face began to flush, I've never heard him talk this way. "That's very kind of you to say, thank you, Izuku."
"Anytime."
