I aimed the gun at the target and his hands went over mine.

I felt eyes on me, but ignored the feeling.

I didn't want this. But his strong grip held me in place as he leaned against my back side and pulled the trigger.

Of course we won.

He placed the stuffed unicorn into my arms, giving a kiss to my lips.

"Brad." Lauren's eyes met his.

"Babe! What are you doing here?!" He panicked.

"Babe?" I questioned.

"No-shit!" He stuttered out.

"The question is, why are you here in Orlando when you were supposed to be in New Jersey. And why are you cuddling up and kissing a girl that isn't me?" Lauren asked and he stayed silent.

Lauren walked away.

"No, babe! She meant nothing!" My heart broke at that.

Tears filled my eyes and I begged my body to not let them fall.

That's why she asked about him...that's why she wanted to know about us.

I gave the stuffed animal to a little kid and ran in the other direction.

"Y/N! Wait, where are you going? What happened?" Ashley questioned when she saw me.

I kept running and sat at a bench.

I let the tears fall freely.

It makes so much sense now. The calls, the lying, everything...

"Y/N. Are you okay?" Ashley sat beside me.

I wiped my tears.

"I'm fine." I spoke, forcing myself to remain calm.

"Come here." She brought me onto her lap.

"Just let it out. Cry if you need to cry, Y/N." With that I sobbed into my older sister's chest.

She just ran her fingers through my hair, no words being said.

When I calmed down, she wiped my tears and fixed my makeup for me.

"Do you want to talk about it?" She asked and I nodded.

I took a deep breath before speaking.

"Brad was cheating on me with Lauren. That's why she wanted to know so much about us... and when Lauren saw us together, she walked up to Brad and questioned him. Lauren walked away and h-he said I meant nothing to him." I ran a hand through my hair, forcing myself to hold back the tears that threatened to spill.

"She already knew. I just don't understand why she didn't tell me in the first place."

"I didn't say anything because I wanted to know if I was the fool, Y/N." I avoided eye contact with the green eyed girl.

"I wanted to know if I was the one that he was messing with. Now I know." I stood from my seat.

"I'm sorry, Y/N." I began to walk away.

Her arms embraced me in a warm hug.

She was comforting me.

I didn't fight against her.

I buried my face into her neck, silently crying.

"Let's get out of here. Tomorrow I'm taking you back home." I immediately pulled away from Lauren at the sound of my sister's voice.

"What? No-"

"I don't trust you to be alone right now, Y/N." I sighed at that.

"Fine." I let Ash lead me to the Uber that had just arrived and we headed to my hotel.

I was silent the entire time as I went out onto the terrace and lit up a joint.

No one questioned my actions and I was thankful for that.

I leaned on the ledge, looking out at the city.

The sun was just starting to set.

I looked at the ring around my finger.

It was a promise ring, the diamonds sparkling in the light.

I took the ring off of my finger, throwing it as far as I could.

"I know I'm probably the last person you want to talk to, but I'm here, Y/N." The green eyed girl leaned on the ledge beside me.

The same ring that I just had in my hands seconds ago, was on her hand.

I chuckled dryly at that. "Of course." I mumbled to myself.

"My ring? It's the only thing he ever got me." She slipped it off her finger.

"I don't see any reason to still be wearing it." She tossed it over the edge like it meant nothing.

I looked out at the view in front of us, the fireworks in the distance bringing a sudden glow to our skin.

I took a puff of the burning joint, biting my lip at the sudden burn in my throat.

I felt the gaze of the girl beside me on my side profile.

She was scanning my features, trying to find out exactly what I was thinking and feeling.

But that's the thing. I don't feel anything.

I'm numb.

I watched as Lauren grabbed a joint from the tin I left up here and lit it up.

She smoked with me, the silence surrounding us being somewhat peaceful.

There was no shouting or heartbreak at all with us.
We were at peace, free from the monster that kept us chained up.
