Rody kept on playing with his pen as he stared blankly on the wall of his office, he can't concentrate on his task as he thought about her and how he will act towards her. It will be awkward, yawa! He thought.
A knock on his door interrupted his thoughts, it was one of his closest friends, Jun Evasco. "Anong meron, mayor?" Jun asked as he took a seat in front of Rody.
Rody put down his pen and looked at his friend, "She's coming home, Jun."
"Who's she?" Jun pretended not to know.
Rody scowled at him, "Sino bang ibang she, Jun? Sige nga."
"Aba malay ko kung sinong she yan, dami mong babae, hirap hulaan." Jun smirked.
"Gago to!" He retorted. "Syempre si Leni! Sino bang iba?"
"Biro lang, alam ko naman na si Leni." Jun chuckled. "Pero ano bang problema kung umuwi si Leni dito sa Pilipinas? Umuuwi naman talaga sya ah."
"Jun, pare iba to!" Rody started as he leaned on his table, resting his both arms on it. "Katja's getting married that's why mag-uwi sila dito sa Pinas, and she wanted me to stay in Naga for a couple of days."
"Katja's getting married???" Jun exclaimed.
Rody nodded, "But that's not the problem here Jun. Namroblema ako paano ko man pakisamahan si Leni? Alam mo man na galit na galit pa rin saakin yun. Sinumpa na yata ako ng gaging—"
"Sandali lang, you mean Katja is getting married? As in papakasal? Si Katja, yung anak mo na inaanak ko?" Jun interrupted, he couldn't believe what he's hearing right now. Everything is happening so quickly.
"Ay yawa!" He exclaimed. "Mag ulit-ulit ba tayo dito, Jun? Oo nga, papakasal na yung anak ko na inaanak mo."
"Anong meron? Sorry late." Delfin and Jun (Yasay) entered his office too. They were called by Rody telling them it's urgent.
"Leni's coming home next week." Rody told the two as they settled themselves.
"And?" Delfin asked. "Bai, it's been 20 years, hanggang ngayon ba big deal pa rin ang pag-uwi ni Leni? Di naman yun magpapakita sa'yo. Asa ka pa!" It's always a thing for Rody whenever Leni and Katja is coming home. They knew that their friend is still hopeful that his relationship with Leni will get better.
"Amen!" Jun Y. Agreed.
"Eh sandali nga kasi, that's not why I called you here. Pinapunta ko man kayo dito kasi Katja wanted me to stay in Naga habang nandun man sila." Rody repeated.
"Ay yun lang, baka di ka na makabalik ng buhay dito sa Davao." Delfin smirked, he knew that Leni is still mad at Rody.
"Double Amen!" Jun Y. Exclaimed.
Rody scratched the back of his head, "Put$&& wala yata akong makuha sainyo!"
The three laughed.
"Ano man nga gawin ko? Nakasabi na ako kay Katja na magpunta ako ng Naga. Ayaw ko naman paasahin yung anak ko, wedding preparation man nya yun." Rody said, looking so troubled.
"Katja's getting married???" Delfin and Jun Y. exclaimed.
"Same reaction." Jun E. smirked.
Rody nodded, "And she wanted me there to stay. Payag man daw si Leni, pero kinakabahan man ako, baka ano—"
