The alarm clock beeped.

A brunette stirred on the bed. She tried to find the snooze button all to no avail.

She clenched her fist and knocked it away from her bedside table sending it into the air and crashing in her room's wall, making a big dent and destroying the alarm clock along with it.

Suzanne turned to resume her sleep.

This was Herotapolis, where heroes lived.

One could easily tell from the name that heroes resided in that country as the mayor wanted it to be so.

Hero League is an organization that pooled together normal people and trained them to be heroes.

From chasing bank robbers and stopping burning buildings to escorting important people and getting a cat down from the tree; the heroes were always available.

Duties were assigned to the heroes according to their rankings.

Slads is what newbies at the Hero League are called. All they basically did was train and foster a great team work among themselves.

Normally; when students are 13-14 years of age, they voluntarily sign up for the Hero League exam. An exam that allows the Sequins (those are major heads in Hero league) to find out which teenager has the capabilities needed for a true hero.

This exam is called the Thriox.

Most teenagers fail this exam and hence proceed their normal lives...being a teacher, doctor or whatever career they have in mind. But the few that are selected will be transfered to different schools the Hero League has established in order to be trained on how to be a proper hero.

The Slads would then be grouped in fours and this was known as a Squad.

Each Squad had a number of it's own used to identify it's members.

"Get up loser!" Shane hissed angrily as he barged into his twin sisters' room.

Suzanne equally glared at him as she sat up.

Shane hadn't taken the exam simply because he wanted to become a soccer star.

"Mum said to wake you up!" he huffed rather annoyed. He was running late for practice. They had just qualified for the finals and he was the star player of his team.

Suzanne stretched and got out of bed ignoring her brother who then marched out after making sure she was really awake.

She looked at her vanity and smiled.

I'm in E-rank now. Finally. She thought pleased.

E-rank. That was the lowest rank that came after Slads; on a higher scale than a Slad though as the E-ranks were given small missions that earned money for the Hero League.

Civilians usually came to put in petty request that they were normally too lazy to do themselves (more of domestic stuffs really) and pay to have them done.

Hero League then assigns these petty tasks to E-ranks as missions.

A notification alert popped on Suzanne's phone.

'Please tell me you're awake.' It read.

She rolled her eyes.

It was one of her team mates, Ethan.

'You are....right?' Another message again.

She huffed and went to freshen up and get dressed.
