Suzanne rubbed her sleepy eyes. She sat up on her bed and yawned, stretching both her hands.
"Really?! You're still in bed?!" Shane exclaimed as he barged into her room.
"You're off to school?" she asked him with wide eyes and he nodded, quite irritated.
"Yeah," he replied in a not-so-nice tone and walked out.
"Don't forget to lock up, Suzanne!" her twin yelled as he went out of the house.
Suzanne panicked and got out of bed. Shane normally skipped the first period every day and always went to class around 9:00am or later even. If he was just off to class then...
She's toast!
She glanced around for a watch or a clock but all she saw was her damaged alarm clock on the floor by the bedside table.
She moaned and grabbed the broken pieces of the alarm clock.
"I just got this yesterday! Dad's gonna be mad," she muttered to herself. She could faintly recall the poor alarm clock beeping to wake her up, doing its job, but as usual she had hit it off the table and it had come crashing down to its sure doom.
She had turned over to continue in her sleep.
Suzanne hurried into the bathroom to freshen up.
She grabbed her toothbrush and her hands shook as she was applying the toothpaste on it, causing the toothpaste to splatter all over the sink and mirror.
She groaned piteously and flung the empty toothpaste tube away.
She used her brush to scoop some of the toothpaste off the mirror and shoved it into her mouth. She quickly brushed her teeth and gargled and spat out the waste. She headed into the bathtub and drew the curtains close.
Some minutes later her hand stuck out groping around for the cream-colored towel she had left hanging on the rack.
She felt frustrated when she didn't find it and poked her head out.
She saw that she had kept it at the farthest corner of the rack. She grunted and gripped the curtain around the bathtub for stability as she reached out to grab the towel. She leaned forward on her tippy toes.
Just a little more...Suzanne thought as she stretched forward.
The result was disastrous as the light curtain she had been holding onto tore suddenly, causing her to tumble out and hit her head on the rack.
Most of the bathing supplies, creams and the extra towels that had been kept there tumbled down on her.
She huffed in annoyance and grabbed her towel that was on the blue bathroom tiled foor with the rest of the equipment.
She wrapped the towel around her and ran to her closet where she grabbed the first pair of black pants and red T-shirt she could lay her hands on, and quickly put them on. She tied her brown hair into a rough pony tail with her black bobble and grabbed her red sneakers and put them on.
She then stuffed some books in her bag and slung it over her shoulder. Then she ran down the stairs and headed into the kitchen.
"I just need a quick breakfast," she muttered aloud as her eyes roamed around the kitchen counter.
She climbed a small stool and started opening cupboards till she found a box of breakfast cereal.
"Ah-ah!" she exclaimed as she grabbed it. "Just what I need," she said as she nodded to herself and jumped down.
