When someone you barely knew claimed that he was your date, the most sensible thing to do was to run away before things get weird. And as a caring friend, the least Baekhyun could do was to pull Hyora away immediately. They did not, however, do any of those things.
"WHAT?" they said in chorus.
"What?" Taehyung asked, looking confused. "Oh, you forgot to say jinx! Don't you guys know you have to say jinx when you say the same thing at the same time—"
Before he could even finish his sentence, Hyora had already grabbed his wrist.
"Hyora, hey, wait—"
And before Baekhyun could also finish that sentence, she had already dragged Taehyung away, leaving behind an utterly confused Baekhyun.
She pulled Taehyung towards a window where they could see the lights from the city. When they came to a stop, she glared at him, which worked like a charm.
Maybe it worked a little too much.
Taehyung recoiled and held his hands up like a shield. "Please don't kill me! I'm too young and handsome to die! All the ladies would weep if I die! The world will grieve when someone like me—"
"Hang on," Hyora interrupted. "I am not going to kill you!"
"You look like you're going to kill me!"
She sighed. "Yeah, I get that a lot. But no, I'm not."
He blinked. "You're not?"
"No."
"Oh." He broke into a relieved smile. "For a second there, I thought my precious life was in danger!"
"Yeah, what a shame that'd be," she fibbed. "Anyway, what do you want from me? You're not my date!"
He cocked his head to the side, looking confused. "I'm not?"
"We don't even know each other!"
"We don't?"
She slapped her forehead.
Taehyung's face scrunched into concern. "Oh no, don't hurt yourself."
"Are you shitting me right now?"
He gasped dramatically. "It's rude to shit on people! I would never shit on anyone! Anyone in their right mind wouldn't do such a thing!"
"No, I mean— I'm not—" She groaned, exasperated. "Oh, what are you?"
"Nam Hyora," he said, suddenly looking worried, "it is concerning that you don't even know what I am. I, Kim Taehyung, am obviously a human being that is currently studying in school—"
"I know!" she blurted out.
"Then why did you ask me?"
She threw her hands up in frustration, desperately suppressing the urge to slap the shit out of someone. She came to the conclusion that continuing to speak to Taehyung would be like intentionally melting your brain into a puddle of goo.
