Hyora was slapping herself.
"Stupid! You're stupid, Nam Hyora!"
Why did she have to get all touchy with her petty feelings that didn't even make any sense? She should have just went to the karaoke room with Baekhyun and his friends! That way, she could relieve some of the academic stress for one night, plus she wouldn't be in this bad episode of self-hatred.
With a groan, she eyed her supposed to be birthday present to Baekhyun which was slipping out pathetically from her unzipped bag. She grabbed it and started skimming through it.
She had made a short comic book entitled "Byun Baekhyun and the Prisoner of the Tower" (inspired by 'Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban'), which she had not only spent many hours on just to make it look like the typical hero comics, but also used up most of her marker pens' ink, nearly emptied her stash of paint, and greatly shortened the length of her colored pencils.
It basically had her losing her mind, but the outcome made it all worth it.
The front cover showcased a comic-version of Byun Baekhyun in a knight's metal armor on a white horse brandishing a sword. On the background is a tall tower inspired by the movie Tangled (because they did watch it together) where the lovely Princess Kim Taeyeon was singing, her seventy-foot golden hair dangling out of the window. On top of it all was the title in the silver Harry Potter font.
On the first page, the comic narrated how Sir Baekhyun the knight had journeyed through blistering winds and scorching desserts (this time inspired by the storybook shown in the Shrek movies) to find the most sought-after mentor of all the land—Nam Hyora.
In exchange for the wisdom she was to grant him, she required an elf of her own which Sir Baekhyun agreed to. At once, they set off to an adventure of a lifetime to rescue the beautiful princess of the tall tower.
They did all kinds of things throughout the many pages of the comic book—they came across a stuttering troll asking for an answer to his riddle to pass the bridge, they swam across a rejuvenating yet dangerous lake that improved their appearance once they got up, they fought a goblin pretending to be a handsome singer to lure them and eat them, and at last, they slayed a fire-breathing dragon guarding the tower.
The last few pages were Hyora's least favorite to draw, for it was all too cheesy and it reminded her that she was about to finish the artwork she most enjoyed creating.
In the ending, Sir Baekhyun finally climbed the tower, rescued the princess, and had true love's kiss, all with the help of his mentor slash friend, Nam Hyora.
Hyora closed the comic book with a sigh. It was truly her most random yet greatest creation yet, and what's even more impressive was that she finished it without much sleep.
She remembered the drawing Taeyeon made for him, which was a measly piece compared to hers. A smug smirk made its way on Hyora's face, but it quickly turned into a frown as guilt gnawed on her because she was downright insulting Taeyeon's art.
