→ the end of an era, the start of a new day.

1 year later

the young couple walked hand in hand, sharing stories and occasionally giggling. the taller placed a kiss on the smaller, staring at him with total fondness.

"hyunnie, where are we going?" jeongin asked his boyfriend, eyes filled with curiosity.

"innie is it okay if i visit seungmin? i understand if you don't want to, i could-"

"it's alright hyunnie, you haven't seen him in a while. i'll walk together with you to him." throughout their way, the two shared a comfortable silence. til finally, they reached the cemetery with both colorful and dead flowers decorating the tombstones.

"i think you have a lot of stories to tell him, i'll give you some time alone." as the smaller gave him a quick peck and walked away, hyunjin took the time to reminisce all the memories between him and seungmin. from the happy laughter and hugs, to the heartbreaking farewell.

"hello angel, it's been a while since i last went here. i'm really sorry, i would've visited you earlier if it wasn't for the chaos that happened the past year." he chuckled, "i thought that letting you go was something i could never do, minnie. you're probably annoyed up there because of all my ranting and crying. but now, a lot of things have changed." a lone tear rolled down his cheek. it was not one of sorrow, but of happiness.

a hand suddenly touched hyunjin's shoulder, and he turned around to see his cute baby with tulips in his hand. jeongin kneeled beside hyunjin and placed the flowers on seungmin's grave.

"innie? you got seungmin tulips?"

"yes! they also represent and i thought it would be nice to give him those."

"thank you innie. i'm sure he loves them." hyunjin smiled, "angel, this boy right here has changed me. without him, i would've been stuck in my room and begging you to come back. i hated being unfair to you, you're resting up there without a trace of your sickness while i was still holding on to you. but now, i think i'm alright with jeongin by my side. he made me discover that i could be strong without you here. minnie, i know you're up there guiding me." hyunjin looked up to see the bright, shining sky.

"i love you minnie, and i'll see you again."

"what took you so long? me and lino have been waiting for twenty minutes. TWENTY!" a whining han jisung glared at the pair who just entered the restaurant. his boyfriend on the other hand wasn't complaining, i mean they did have fun during those twenty minutes.

"oh please jisung, we all know you enjoyed making out with minho hyung while we were gone." the maknae spat, causing the squirrel's cheeks to turn red. yes, he dropped the honorifics on his hyung.

"yah! can we not talk about our session? you guys took forever to come."

"we finally visited seungminnie together. it was so relieving and it took all the weight from my chess, everyone is happy. i am so glad that minnie is free from stress." hyunjin smiled.

"we are so proud of you hyunjin, you took your time recovering and you have grown so much with your experiences."

"i am very proud of myself too."

"wait up innie! you're not supposed to leave your boyfriend who you're about to introduce to your mom right?" the taller panted. god was his jeongin tiny, but damn, he was fast.
