A/N i should probably put a trigger warning for this chapter, but if i do its kinda gonna spoil it, so all i'm going to say is this: you should mentally and emotionally prepare yourself before continuing. Patton's POV:
"J-JANUS!"
I- what- how-
I slowly stumbled over to him. He looked like he had fallen out of his bed. But that's not the worst part.
w-was- is- he dead?!?
He had huge lumps cascading down his arms, as if something was underneath his skin, trying to get out. His eyes were vacant and lost. blood slowly dripping out from under his scales.
and
flowers?!?
I knelt down beside him.
Did the others know? Is this why they kept me from him? Why? I coULD HAVE HELPED!
I slowly lifted up his head, tears streaming down my cheeks.
"J-Janus? What-ts going on?! Are you ok?! Can you hear- S-sAy SOMETHING JANUS PLEASE-" I screamed. No response.
I-
no-one's POV:
At that moment, Logan and Remus burst in. They had heard Patton's shouting and knew what had happened. Remus moved towards Janus, trying to figure out what had happened, as Logan pulled Patton away and attempted to comfort him.
"P-Patton, look at me- look at me! It's going to be all right okay? Do you understand? Nod, if you understand."
Patton nodded with a whimper.
"Good." Logan sighed. "VIRGIL, WE HAVE A SITUATION!"
Virgil and Roman appeared, not wanting to waste time by walking there.
"I- IS SNAKE MAN OK?!" Roman almost shrieked.
"What do you need us to do?" Virgil asked, trying to hide the panic in his voice.
"Please get Patton to a different room whilst Remus and I assess the situation. Virgil I hope I can trust you to explain to Roman and Pat whats happened?" Logan commanded, giving Virge Pat's hand. Virgil nodded and led the other two out the room. "How is he doing?" The logical trait turned to Re.
"Not good- his pulse is really slow- L-logie, I think this is it!" Remus's voice wobbled. "Isn't t-there something we can do-? THE SURGERY! Oh please can we- I-"
"You know why we can't do that Re"
"B-but, at least then, we can say goodbye-"
