Taylor woke up to a knock on the door. She checked the clock next to her bed and realized she over slept.
"Uhh coming!"
She yelled for the person behind the door to hear and she quickly got dressed. She grabbed her trunk and opened the door. Profesor Flitwick was waiting for her outside. "I'm sorry-""It's fine dear. Let's hurry along now shall we?"
They walked down the stairs and out the common room. No one was walking in the corridors this early. Last night Taylor ran out of tears so she didn't have the sudden urge to cry anymore. Although she felt well...depressed.
Profesor Flitwick brought her down to Hogsmede and she boarded the train.
"Bye Ms. Webb."
He waved and the train started to move. There was no one on the train except her so it wasn't hard finding a seat. Taylor sighed and sat down. She went back to sleep after an hour of just looking out the window.
"Oliver wake up. We're gonna be late for class"
Percy tried to wake up Oliver. "It's almost 9 o'clock for godrick's sake""Bloody hell!"
Oliver shot right up and quickly got dressed. Percy waited for him by the door. "Let's go!"
He yelled and opened the door. Oliver ran out and Percy quickly followed behind him."We have double potions today"
Oliver grumbled as they made it to the Great Hall. "You two have 5 minutes before you have to be in my classroom. Eat. Now"
Profesor McGonagall came up behind them and told them. They did what she said and started to chow down their breakfast."Don't forget about Quidditch Tryouts"
Percy reminded him as they walked down the corridor and into class. "Shoot. Can you be there? For you know, support. It's really important to me""Fine. If you really wa-"
"Boys! Please."
Profesor McGonagall yelled at the two in the way back. They shut up and tried to pay attention during class. When Taylor arrived back in London she hesitated to get off the train at first. She prayed and prayed that her parents death was a mistake.
She dragged her trunk through the barrier and when she came out of the wall she saw her Grandparents.
"Taylor! Oh sweetie it's nice to see you"
Her grandma yelled and hugged her tightly.Surprisingly, tears started to fall from her eyes again. Her Grandma wiped her them away but more kept coming.
"We should get going"
Taylor's Grandpa said and they both nodded. On the way home Taylor kept crying."I've -sob- been -sob- crying all -sob- night"
She managed to say with a few sobs in between. Her grandma looked at her sympathetically, tears starting to fall out of her eyes as well. When they arrived at the house Taylor was fed some breakfast. She stopped her crying but the image of her parents kept crossing her mind.
She went up after she was done eating to unpack in the guest room."I'm scared"
Oliver said with a shaken voice as him and Percy walked out onto the quidditch pitch after lunch. "You'll do great. Trust me"
Percy encouraged him with a pat on the back.Oliver went out to the group of people that were also trying out while Percy sat and watched in the stands. Oliver wanted to try out to be the keeper since that's the only position that works for him. Percy watched as he got onto his broom and started to lift off into the sky.
The team captain Flynn Clarke shot some quaffles at him to see if he could block them. Oliver managed to get 9/10. Percy cheered for him just to make sure that he felt good about himself. When Oliver was finished trying out he flew down by Percy and they started to leave.
"Hey Wood!"
Flynn called for him before they left the pitch.
"You got a good future ahead of you if you keep it up"
He said. Oliver smiled and Percy patted him on the back again."Congrats!"
He said as they walked back into the castle and down the corridor to the dungeons for double potions. "I don't even know if I made the team yet"
Oliver mumbled. "Yeah but team captains don't just say that to everyone who tries out" Percy answered as they turned the corner and started down the stairs."I don't know. I really really hope I made the team"
"I'm pretty sure you did"
As they made it to the door of the potions classroom they saw a group of Ravenclaw girls exiting out of the room.
"Wait...where's Taylor?"
Oliver asked confused as they passed by. He didn't see her with them. "What if she's not ok!"
Oliver said to Percy worriedly, putting his hands on his shoulders and shaking Percy's body."I'm sure she's fine Oliver"
He shrugged and had this feeling at the pit of his stomach that she wasn't ok.
Snape came out and ushered them inside. They both gulped as they saw all the cauldrons and notes on the board for today's lesson. 2 hours of potions is equivalent to death.
Taylor laid on the bed that was her's and sighed. It was much softer than the one she had when she lived with her parents and the one at Hogwarts. But it sure didn't feel like home. She took out the photo that she had of her parents. They were both muggles. She was the only witch in the family and her parents were so proud of her. If only they could see her now, keeping her grades up and getting top marks. "I wish I could've said good bye one last time"
Taylor mumbled as tears soaked the bed sheets. She put the photo on the bed side table and sobbed into the pillow. It was hard for her to accept that they were gone. And nothing, nothing is going to make her happy anymore in the world.
