Laura was acting weird the whole time she was here and I have no idea why. It was mainly towards the end when we were watching a movie. It was almost like she was hiding something from me, or like she knew something that I didn't know. I let it go hoping that it was nothing. Last time she was like this things didn't go so well.
I know I haven't done anything wrong recently so I don't know why she would be acting like this.
Suddenly I hear a ringing noise coming from across the room. I look over to see my phone going off. I walk over to see Laura calling me.
"Hey." I say answering the phone.
"Hey to you too." Laura replies. Even though I couldn't see her I knew she was smiling.
"So I was just wondering what you are doing later?" She asks.
"Are you asking me out on a date? Laura Marano, asking me out?" I ask shocked.
"Very funny." She replies sarcastically.
"Are you free or not because I have an idea." She continues.
"Well I guess it depends on what your idea is." I joke.
"Ross I'm being serious!" Laura complains.
"Okay I'm sorry. Yes I am free later, what do you have in mind?" I ask.
"Just meet me at my parents house at 1:30, does that sound okay?" Laura confirms.
It was just past 11:30 now.
"Can we make it two by any chance? I don't know if I will make it to your parents by 1:30?" I ask.
"Uhh.." Laura thinks for a moment. "Yeah I guess that should be okay." She tells me. She pauses for a second and just as I'm about to speak she talks again.
"Are you going out with your family. I think I remember Rydel saying something about that."
"No that's a different day. I'm just seeing some friends, nothing big. Actually I wanted to talk to you about that family thing. It's going to be this big family lunch but friends are coming too so if you're not busy you are more than welcome to come." I explain to her excited thinking about it.
"I'd love too." Laura says and I can tell she is smiling again.
"Well I have to go if I don't want to be late to meet my friends." I say.
"Okay I'll see you later." Laura says before hanging up.
I put my phone down and have a quick shower. Laura seemed to be back to normal. I get out of the shower and I do my usual getting ready routine. By the time I'm done I am one minute early, perfect.
I'm going to Becca's place because she's having a little lunch there. Becca knows some of my other friends from way back so I couldn't miss this and I don't really think this is Laura's thing. Becca was trying to convince me to come with her when I saw her the other day but I didn't think it would be a good idea. We actually had a little disagreement over it.
"It will be a good experience for Laura to get to know your friends." Becca tells me.
"Laura already knows my friends." I reply.
Then she gave my a least four reason why Laura should come.
"Okay I get it." Becca finally says. I was about to thank her for understanding but then she spoke again.
"Noah won't be there okay. If that's what you're worried then you don't have to be."
I will tolerate Noah for Becca but thats about it.
