Warnings: sad scenarios

You woke up slowly, the warm morning sun shining on your face. Calum's tattooed, muscular arms were wrapped around your waist securely. You smiled, but that smile faded once you remembered what was happening today. Calum and his band were leaving for tour. Your eyes traveled to Calum's suitcase that sat across from you. You helped him pack last night and you both had a good conversation. You talked about how you were going to keep in touch during the tour and Calum had told you when he had days off.

Calum's arms tightened around your waist, interrupting your thoughts about the day ahead. You smiled and giggled quietly. Calum squirmed around a little more before relaxing his grip again. You turned to face Calum and he smiled at you. You looked into his sleepy brown eyes as you smiled back.

"Good morning, beautiful." Calum says in his raspy morning voice.

"Morning, handsome." You reply, blushing a little.

You both laid there staring at each other, but Calum's facial expression soon changed. Calum's eyebrows furrowed and his smile vanished. He must have remembered that he was leaving for tour today. Calum absolutely loved tour, it wasn't that, he just hated leaving you for so long.

"I'm leaving for tour today..." Calum says.

"I know..." You reply quietly, your hands fidgeting with the soft bed sheets.

Calum sighed and pulled you closer to his chest. You closed your eyes as Calum's arms wrapped around you, keeping you warm and safe. You pressed a soft kiss on Calum's collarbone, then your eyes wondered to his tattoos. You loved Calum's tattoos, every single one of them. They all had such deep, special meanings and you loved that. You traced Calum's tattoos and he kissed the top of your head. You loved moments like these in the morning with Calum. It reminded you about the good things in life and made you cherish each and every one of them.

You held Calum's hand as you both walked through the airport. The rest of the boys and their mom's were walking with you as well. Today the boys were leaving for tour. This tour was going to be a lot longer than the last one. Your heart ached knowing that Calum would be gone for so long. This was going to be the longest amount of time that you two would be separated. You wished that Calum didn't have to be gone all the time, but you knew how important his band was to him. The band was important to you, too. They made amazing music and you loved listening to it. Their music had a good meaning, an amazing sound and a wonderful purpose. Once you started dating Calum, you made yourself promise that no matter what, you would never get in the way of the band's future.

You held onto Calum's hand tightly as you both sat down with everyone. You tried to cherish these last moments with Calum as much as you could. The boy's plane would be here any minute, so this would be the very last time that you saw Calum for the next several months. Everyone sat in silence. Calum looked over at you and you tried to smile, but instead you both stared into each other's eyes. A wave of emotions swept over you as you looked into Calum's chocolate brown eyes. You loved this boy so much, it was so hard to let him go.

"Are you ok Y/N?" Calum asks with concern in his voice.

"Yeah...I'm fine." You say, faking your happiness. You felt anything but fine.

"Y/N, I know something's wrong. Talk to me." Calum says, rubbing the back of your hand with his thumb.

"I just...It's so hard to say goodbye. I know you've been on tours before, but this one is going to be a lot longer. I don't know how I'll cope. I missed you so much last time, I'm gonna miss you so much more this time. I love you all and I'm so proud of you guys. I would never try to get in the way of your band because I know how important it is to you guys, and to all of us. I want you to go on tours and do what you love. I love seeing you guys that happy. I guess I'm just saying that it's hard...it's hard to watch you leave." You explain.

"Trust me Y/N, we've all had those feelings before and we're all having them now." Calum's mom says, gesturing towards the rest of the boy's parents.

"Yes, we know how you feel. It's very hard to watch your loved ones leave, but it's just another part of life. I agree with everything you said, Y/N." Luke's dad says, sounding truly sincere.

You wiped your tears and really smiled. At least you knew that you weren't the only one who felt this way. However, that did not relieve all of the pain that you felt in your heart. Calum looked at you with sad eyes. He didn't want to leave you and you knew that, but this was his dream and his job. Touring made Calum so happy and you never wanted to take that away from him or 5SOS' amazing fans.

"I love you so much Y/N, no tour is ever going to change that. As long as you're patient enough to wait for me, I'll wait for you. I love you Y/N and I always will." Calum says.

"I will always wait for you Calum, no matter what. I love you so much, you mean the whole world to me." You say, smiling as joyful tears filled your eyes.

Calum smiled wide. Oh, how you loved this boy's smile. Seconds later, you heard that the boy's flight was leaving soon. It was time for the boys to go now. You took a deep breath and stood up, along with everyone else. You hugged Luke, Michael and Ashton, telling them your goodbye's and wishing them good luck on tour. You then handed Calum his bag and suitcase. Your hands lingered for a few moments, then you both looked into each other's eyes. You both smiled at each other, thinking that everything would be ok. You were both strong, certainly strong enough to handle being away from each other this long. You stared into Calum's chocolate brown eyes and almost got lost in them. The others were all already walking away, but you two just stood still.

"I love you, Y/N." Calum says.

"I love you too, Calum. I will always wait for you." You tell him.

Calum hugs you, holding you tightly. You inhaled his scent one last time and listened to his heartbeat. In this moment you knew just how much you really loved Calum. You loved him more than you had ever loved anyone before. You touched his warm skin, your arms wrapped around his neck. You touched the ends of his dark brown hair and tried with all your strength to keep your tears inside.

"Calum! I'm sorry buddy, but we have to go now!" You heard Michael call.

Calum pulled away, looking you in the eyes before giving you a perfect, chaste kiss. His lips felt so soft and warm against yours. You cherished this kiss, knowing it would be the last one for a very long time. Calum's hands cupped the smooth skin of your cheeks. After a few seconds, Calum pulled away and left without another word.

You watched Calum as he walked out of sight, giving you one last wave. Once Calum was out of your sight and onto the plane, a few stray tears ran down your cheeks. This was going to be tough.
