Remus was anxiously tapping his drumsticks against his leg while backstage for the next battle. He watched eagerly as the music teacher welcomed everyone back to the battle. Janus and Virgil were right behind him. He could feel the emo tapping the keyboard keys to their song on his shoulder while Janus hummed the song to himself. "If I didn't know any better, I'd say you two were nervous," Remus cackled.

"We are, dude! We actually did well last time, meaning there are high stakes!" Janus hissed.

"Not to mention, two bands dropped out and one band got removed by the principal! Meaning there are only five bands left. And if we got fifth last night, we can't afford to get fifth again or it's curtains for us!" Virgil panicked.

"Calm down, fuckmates! Everything is going to be okay! We've all known this song since diapers and play it all the time! We have nothing to worry about. Plus, if we do fuck up, no ones gonna remember anyway." Remus assured them. That seemed to get their confidence up again, just in time for the music teacher to exit the stage.

On stage ran on Remy and his crew. Remus blocked out the ego trip that was Remy and focused on Logan as he put himself behind the keyboard. The nerd glanced up for a brief moment, catching Remus' eye. Even from being washed out by the stage lights, his blush was still noticeable, making Remus' heart melt a little.

Remy grabbed the microphone, struming his guitar and signalling for Patton, Emile, and Logan to start. Remus was decently surprised when he found himself enjoying their performance. He had to give credit where it was do, Remy knew how to entertain his crowd.

But for him, Logan still stole the show. Remus could see how much he enjoyed each individual note and how deep the song they were playing meant to him. They all clapped as they finished, Remy fully filling up his ego from the audience before practically being dragged off the stage by Logan.

Patton and Emile shot somewhat snarky looks at Janus and Virgil as they exited. But Remus and Logan locked eyes before a wild blush appeared on each other's faces. "Y-You did really well." Remus coughed out.

"Thanks. So did you. I-I mean, you haven't performed yet, have you? What I meant was...y-you will do good when you perform." The drummer couldn't help but laugh at the flustered boy in front of him. Before Remus could say anything else though, Remy pushed himself between the two.

"You trying to get into Logan's head? Burst his confidence? Break his self esteem? Hurt him?" Remy interrogated. Remus could feel his eyes sting, he rolled them so hard. He lightly shoved him out of the way, trying not to make a hige scene.

"Love to say and chit chat with the insomnic rat, but we gotta perform." Logan chuckled at Remus' line before waving to him as he, followed by Janus and Virgil, walked out onto the stage. To the boys' surprise, people cheered. For them. And they hadn't even done anything yet. Janus looked proud while Virgil's shaking had subsided a bit. Remus, however, felt amazing.

The group tucked themselves behind their instruments. Virgil laid his fingers among the keys, Janus positioned his hands on the neck of the guitar just so while sticking his mouth to the mic, and Remus put his foot on the bottom drum petal while smacking his drumsticks together.

"Now I know
That I can't make you stay
But where's your heart?
But where's your heart?
But where's your

And I know
There's nothing I can say
To change that part
To change that part

To change!"

The audience went crazy as Janus riffed on his guitar for the solo. The stage lights when wild, flashing all different colors and moving wildly everywhere. They all looked surprised by the light show. Remus gazed over behind the stage, seeing Logan giving him a wide smile to him. This only made Remus continue even stronger than he ever had before.

At the end of the day, Remus, Janus, and Virgil were still jittery from the performance. The energy from them performing was incredible. People liked them. Which was a massive change from how they were viewed before.

When they walked along the hallways to their lockers, people smiled at them and told them such nice things about their performance. Not only that, some students asked for high fives and photos. The three were practically glowing and their cheeks hurt from all the smiling.

The trio reached their lockers, each of them sighing and laughing a bit. "I told you guys this competition would be good for us!" Remus acknowledged.

"Yeah, yeah. You were right, Remus!" Virgil mocked, making them all laugh harder, if that was something any of them could achieve at this point.

Out of nowhere, Logan walked over to Remus. Janus and Virgil stayed quiet, just watching as the nerd and the drummer chatted. "Have you guys checked the results?" Logan asked.

"Oh boy. Did we barely make it in again?" Janus joked, shutting his locker.

"Far from it." Logan showed the boys his phone, reading the results. They each felt faint when they realized their band was number one.

"That can't be real!" Virgil struggled to say, hugging the life out of Janus.

"It can be. You guys are becoming the 'talk of the town' as one might say."

"This is amazing! I almost can't believe it!" Remus gushed. Logan blushed and chuckled, his heart melting with Remus' adorableness.

"I'm so proud of you." Logan quietly said so Janus and Virgil couldn't hear them.

A few rows of lockers down, Patton, Emile, Remy, and Roman were watching the other Prince brother, his friends, and Logan celebrate. Roman slammed his locker shut, making them all jump.

"I can't belive Logan is celebrating with them!" Remy pouted, letting Emile cuddle into him in an attempt to calm him down.

"Easy there, baby. We'll get them next time. Besides, we don't always have to win!" Emile commented.

"Yeah but, what if we get voted out next round?" Patton added, growing a sad face on him that broke Roman's heart as he watched it form. "I just wanna play music, you guys. And playing the prom if we were to win would be so much fun!"

"Don't worry, Pattoncake," Roman assured him, letting him bury his face into a chest with a hug. "You will win this. I'll make sure of it."
