Onceler x suicidal!reader (Part 1)

Onceler's POV

I decided today was the most beautiful weather, not too hot but not cold either, not windy nor too much wind, a nice, gentle, relaxing breeze. Today was perfect to go on a walk! And why waste this moment? I placed my fedora on my head and picked up my guitar then left my house, tent.. thingy.

I took a step outside and looked around with a big smile on my face, my hand on my hip as I inhaled the fresh scent of the valley, a hint of butterfly milk in the air from the truffula trees. I saw pipsqueak and lifted him up laughing
"Hey little guy! How are ya?" He giggled and reached for me
"Good to know, wanna join me on my walk?"

Before he could give an answer, he started waving to someone behind me. I looked around and heard a cough from below me
"Down here, beanpole" oh that gruff, familiar voice..
"Hey Lorax! What are you doin' here?" I chuckled nervously, expecting him to complain about something I've done.
"I came here to introduce you to someone, follow me." He gestured for me to follow as he began to walk
"Woah h-hey, no complaining? What's up with you today?" I laughed as I placed my guitar at the foot of my door. He turned around, looking at me
"There's someone new in the forest, I thought you may like to meet her." He then turned around and began to walk again. I shrugged and followed.

After walking through the valley for a few minutes, we came to a bit of an opening, the trees left a circular spot and in that spot, sat a girl who's back was turned towards us. As far as I can tell, she had (h/l) (h/c) hair and a (f/c) dress and underneath the dress was a white long sleeved blouse. She was also sitting with a few bar-ba-loots.

Me and the Lorax walked Infront of her, she looked up and her eyes might mine. I felt my self straighten my posture as my face heated up, she was.. gorgeous! She had beautiful (e/c) eyes and long eyelashes, her lips were a rosy shade of pink and her (s/c) skin looked so soft.

"(y/n), this is beanp- Onceler! I mean Onceler. Onceler, this is (y/n)." He gestured to me and then to (y/n). I coughed and smiled holding out my hand
"Well (y/n), it's nice to meet you! What brings you to truffula valley?" As she shook my hand, her sleeve lifted upwards a bit, I rose a brow slightly as I saw a cloth that looks like a bandage on her wrist but paid no mind to it. I also noticed a lot of burn scars on her hands, she must be a cook! I wonder if she can teach me anything about cooking?..

"Hello Onceler, I came to this place to run away from my pa- uh.. city! All of that noise and sounds of cars was starting to get really annoying haha.. what brought you to the valley?" Her smile seemed a little.. off. Like it was fake or something.
"Why I came here to make my revolutionary invention! The thneed!-" The Lorax snorted a laugh and I looked at him, gave him an annoyed look before I continued, smiling at her again

"-And the tufts of these trees are just what I need!"
"That sounds really interesting, but what does a thneed do?" The annoying orange peanut behind me saw my face light up at her question, he groaned and mumbled
"Not this again..."

Time skip - Your POV

I stared in awe as I watched Onceler demonstrate all of the thneeds' uses, it could do so many things! It could be a scarf, hat, umbrella, it was also super absorbent! I couldn't help but laugh at the end when Onceler slapped the soaking wet thneed on the Lorax's head. The Lorax grumbled and threw the thneed back at Onceler.

As they had their little argument, I adjusted my bandages on my arms to cover my cuts, gashes and stitches. The memory's from the abuse from my parents coming back to me, they would hurt me in everyway imaginable: burned me, slashed me, punched me, everything.

"(y/n)? Are you alright?" I looked up at Onceler and Lorax, they were looking at me shocked and confused, my head leaned to the side as I gave them a questioning look, until I felt tears running down my cheeks. My eyes widened and I wiped the tears away
"Y-yeah, I'm fine! Something went into my eyes, that's all hehe.." I chuckled nervously and placed my left hand on my my right arm, rubbing it slightly.

They looked at eachother in a certain way, worried but disbelieving? Oh god, I made it awkward again, fuck sake you always do this you idiot! I shot up, arms behind my back
"I-im going on a walk, I'll see you two around. Goodbye." I quickly walked away, Onceler's sapphire blue eyes looking into my glassy (e/c) ones as I passed with a worried and confused expression.

Onceler's POV

I watched (y/n) as she passed until she was out of sight, I looked at the Lorax who had the same expression as I did
"I'm going after her" I said and ran, the Lorax didn't reply, he just watched me go. I ran to her and slowed down when I was a few steps away from her

"Hey, are you alright? Wanna talk?"
