I have known Onceler for some time now and have already become close friends, helping him try to sell his Thneed in the town I live, him helping me write songs... But the things is, as time grew on I began to have feelings for him. I mean, he was really kind, funny and not to mention attractive. When we sung together it would feel as if it was only me and him in the world, all the problems of the world would just vanish.
Today we were going to go to town and try to sell his Thneed, after all the days when it would end up in a mess, we would not give up. It was his dream. We set up in the same place as we normally performed "Everybody needs a Thneed~" he strummed his guitar and began the opening "A fine thing that all people need!" I sung back as if we were talking, playing the keyboard that I managed to bring. "The thneed is good, the thneed is great - and it's just three ninety eight!" We sung the last part together, smiles on our faces as we noticed a few more people come to watch.
As we were about to sing the next part, I felt something wet hit my cheek. I immediately stopped playing and brought my fingers up to my face, touching the substance on my cheek. I grabbed it and stared at the tomato in my grip. I looked over to Onceler and saw he had the same treatment too. He wiped it off and glared at the crowd "That's it! You know what? I'm done with this thing." He then walked away, I jogged after him "Hey-" "My family was right, I quit" he finished before throwing it aside. I grabbed him by his shoulders
"Oncie, don't give up now!" "Why not? My family even told me I'd be a failure, and they're right!" Tears pricked my eyes as we argued "But I don't! I love you Oncie and im-" "Wait... What?" He stared at me shocked, my heart dropped as I realized what I had just said. I fiddled with my thumbs and my face become a bit red, I began to feel a bit hot "I uh... I meant-" but I was cut off by a hug. My eyes widened in surprise "I love you too..." He whispered, I smiled and wrapped my arms around his neck. We stayed like that for a few moments, enjoying the company
"Come on, let's go home." I said as we pulled away, he stared lovingly into my eyes and offered me his hand. We left the town and went back to the valley.
