JUNE 17, 1990
→ T I N N I E

TODAY WAS THE 17th of June, and me, Emily and Amanda, alongside with the New Kids, were in Philadelphia. Why you may ask? Because we were going to attend Madonna's Blond Ambition Tour which I had been wanting to go to for the longest time.

The New Kids' summer tour was starting in a little less than a week, and we all wanted to make sure that we got to go see the Madonna concert before that. The guys had even fixed us up with some backstage passes so we could go meet Madonna after the show, which I was looking very forward to, even though I had already had a small encounter with her beforehand, at the Step by Step release party.

It was now already 7PM and we were on our way to the arena.

"I heard that this show's quite controversial. I hope you all can take it," Danny said to us, looking out the car window.

"It's Madonna—controversy is her middle name! What else do you expect from her?" I told Danny, gently squeezing Joey's hand.

"And that's why you're my girl," Joey said, giving me a quick peck on the lips, "'cause you always know what's up"

Joey calling me 'his girl' caused the craziest kind of butterflies in my stomach, and even though the feeling was quite overwhelming, I loved every single part of it. I gazed deeply into his eyes beautiful, blue eyes as I felt the upper corners of my lips form into a smile, making him smile as well.

"We're here!" Jon said as the car stopped and we all hopped out of the car.

Since nobody was expecting the New Kids to appear at the Madonna concert tonight, there weren't any crowds outside of the venue waiting on us. That made it pretty easy for us all to get inside of the arena.

The New Kids' bodyguards had to be there with us anyways, obviously, because none of us ever knew what could happen.

We made it to our seats with the bodyguards and sat down. We didn't have floor seats, simply to avoid being attacked by the audience.

"Biscuit, could you please go get us all some Madonna T-shirts? I have a feeling this night will be something we'll all want to remember," Jon asked him, handing him some cash. Biscuit nodded and left for the merchandise stands.

"I can't wait to hear Express Yourself live! I've been jamming to that song ever since it came out as a single last year!" Emily said, getting all hyped up as she tried to get Jordan to jump up and go nuts with her too.

"I'm excited for Vogue. The music video itself is out-of-this-world, but can you imagine what it will be like in concert?!" Jon said to Emily.

"But Vogue is so overrated, Jon! I'm excited to hear songs like Keep It Together and Oh Father, the good stuff. As should you," Jordan said to his brother, pulling Emily closer to his seat and putting his arm around her.

We all kept on chatting until Biscuit returned with our Madonna T-shirts. Just as he came back, the lights faded out and the show began.
