Moon Inspired Poem

You two have always been by each other's side
Never alone and never unguarded
Is there any room for me to have a place next to both?

You are the star of the show
I am just in the background
You shine brighter than any light
You make up the whole, the bigger picture
All eyes can never leave you
Glistening eyes at only you

I'm said to be a thing of beauty
But my heart feels empty
Because you're the one who is truly cherished
And always looked upon, day and night

Kept in my thoughts, pondering, wondering
What do I look like in your eyes?
Would you feel the hollow of my being?
I'm still here, I'll be the light in your heart

Who I was wasn't known
Who I am now is known
You loved when I was unloved
And now you're who I shine for

The dark night, the starry night
Together we look at the same space
If you stay beside me, even for a moment
Eyes closed, eyes opened
Will you let me embrace you?

I am just a moon
My existence is smaller than you
But if you stay by my side, night and day
With emotions, with thoughts so fragile and somber
I will remain by your side too
Giving you the light that you bestowed on me

Hey everyone! A new poem is up! This time it is inspired by the song "Moon" from the album Map Of The Soul 7.

From what I gather, Jin is telling us through his lyrics that even though everyone has always told him that he's beautiful and handsome, he's always had self-doubt. The real him envies the him that everyone sees on the outside. The him on the inside wishes he could be as beautiful as the him on the outside.

I hope my interpretation was clear enough. I'm sorry if it wasn't. My analysis of lyrics aren't always accurate nor are they necessarily correct.
