Seesaw Inspired Poem

Seesaw
A never-ending rollercoaster of ups and downs
Bickering fights and miscommunication
What was the point of it all?

When we first met, it was sweet
When we first met, it was cute
When we first confessed, nervous and scared
When we first kissed, shy and embarrassed

We were complete opposites
We favored different things
We insulted each other
We were rude when we saw each other

But along the way we found similarities
Opposites were attracting
We swore that we would never end up together
Now here we stand, holding hand in hand

Your friends disapproved of me
My friends disapproved of you
But we didn't care, we were in love
Nobody could stand in our way

Your little gestures filled my heart with joy
They surprised me, I wasn't used to it
My heart would quicken at every glance
And every touch was electrifying

I questioned our relationship
You questioned our relationship
Why were we together?
Why did we love each other?

Friends, family, they found us weird
We treated each other horribly everyday
What was it that drew us together?
Why would we give more chances to exchange remarks?

Other girls were prettier
Other boys were sexier
Other girls flirted with you
Other boys flirted with me

What was it that drew us near?
Was it a challenge or a deeper connection?
Words couldn't describe our feelings
We knew how we felt and it didn't matter what others thought

Weeks turned into months
Months turned into years
By year 2, we had known each other for so long
We knew everything there is to know about each other

You knew my weaknesses and strengths
I knew your weaknesses and strengths
You knew my likes and dislikes
I knew your likes and dislikes

Our bond seemed stronger than ever
But something happened, one we couldn't figure out

Boredom seemed to cross our path
Perhaps lack of connection or feelings
We grew apart and barely talked
We fought, we argued, and ignored one another

We hung out with others
We made it a competition to see who can make the other more jealous
And it worked, everyday
But then we would feel bad

Next thing we know, another argument
Disloyalty and trust begins to crackle
Secrets and betrayals begin to unravel
By the end of the road, all that is left is emptiness

What did we lose?
What did we mess up?
Were we meant to be enemies forever?
Were we meant to fight everyday?

We must come to an understanding
We must find a solution
We must break this constant toxicity
Before someone ends up hurt

I wish no harm to you and the same for me
The last bit of hope is what holds us together
We must find common ground
Or doomed to remain the mortal enemies we started out as

Seesaw
A world wind of emotions, pulled from side to side
Never wanting to get off the other end
Unless we have a reason not to then when the time is right
Together, we will depart and not look back

Another poem has been written! It's longer than the first two. I had a bit more of a grander idea on what to write for this one. I hope you all enjoyed reading it!

If it was hard to follow along with what the poem was about then I'll brief it down for you all. The poem is semi based off of the lyrics from Yoongi's solo song "Seesaw", which is about a relationship he has with a girl and that they're constantly fighting and their hearts are just not in it anymore. The poem is supposed to be a replica of that, except it's from the girl's point of view. The girl is expressing that they had such fun times together when they first started and then things began to crumble and now she's wondering what was the point of being together. At the end, she is saying that if there is no reason for them to stay together then they shouldn't, but if there is then they should give their hearts into it this time. I hope that clears the poem meaning a bit more if you didn't quite follow along with it.
