"If you want the two people who live here, come to our base, your friend Lemony can lead you there". The message on the wall frightened everyone in the room. "What's wrong?" Charles said, sounding super worried. "They're gone," Sally said. Then Charles saw the message and fell to the ground, bringing Quigley and Hector with him. Quigley and Hector took him to another room to help him feel better.
"So that means they've gotten Percy-Luc" Sally said. "Will they kill him, or keep him as a weapon?" Julia asked. Nobody answered. "We still should go to the place and try and get him back," Violet said. "There will be lots of traps," Julia said. "Yeah but we still have to get him back, who knows what they're doing to them" Duncan decided. "Duncan's right, but we have to get back to The Zappy Zoo and discuss with everyone what the next steps will be," Sally said. Suddenly Charles, Hector and Quigley reentered with Charles not looking too bad anymore.
"I'm going to stay here" Charles said. "There is nothing the villains will be after and I'll be able to look for clues at where Jerome and Percy-Luc are" he decided. "Okay, if you think that's what's best for you" Sally said. "I'll visit you every other day and discuss what we can do about the schism and how to get Jerome and Percy-Luc back" Charles said. Everyone said their goodbyes and prepared to leave and reunite with the others to discuss what they had discovered.
"The world is quiet here" Charles said to everyone as they left as the world was quite literally quiet in the penthouse where he was the only one present, or at least he thought that was the case. In the distance in one of the normally unused rooms in the penthouse, Carmelita Spats was watching Charles and smiling an evil grin that would have even made Esme Squalor proud.
The mood in the car on the way back to The Zappy Zoo was not great. Duncan and Quigley sat in the back, not hiding from everyone this time. Violet and Julia were asleep in the backseat. Meanwhile Hector drove and Sally was in the shotgun seat waiting to get home. Other than a few whispers between the two brothers not much was said during the drive. As they approached The Zappy Zoo, they were hoping the others would have much better news than the news they were arriving with.
