Sorry for the no-update - I was preoccupied with Pokemon White 2 and a novel I probably won't finish. But here it is, chapter 11. Hope you all like it. :) THis is where the subplot starts to be kind of obvious, if you remember the contest.

And if you have the time, please go read the CheckmateShipping oneshot I just posted a few days ago.

I followed Dawn out of the Pokemon Center and into the Mt. Silver cave. "Do you know where you're going?" I asked her.

"Nope," she replied. "And not so loud, okay?"

Suddenly, I heard footsteps. Apparently Dawn heard them too, because she grabbed me and pulled me behind a rock. "Sounds like you, Carolina," a gruff voice said. "Always wanting to have fun."

"Yeah, well, all we ever do is work!" a feminine voice replied. "Come on, Uncle. Can't we take a break for once?"

I peered out from behind the rock to see a young Rocket girl and a not-so-young Rocket man standing not very far off. "We have a world to take over," the man said arrogantly.

"Well, I could always take the day off. Go see some Johto and Kanto sights. And while I'm out, maybe I'll run into your wife. And then I can tell her all about you and Susanna..."

He seemed a little surprised by that. "Okay, fine. We'll have your silly party. But just this one, you got it?"

"Yay!" she squealed, jumping up and down. "I think I'll have it in this big area here, right next to the waterfall. I'd better go get a live band of Jigglypuff, and a lot of food..." She walked away through one of the openings in the cave wall. The man rolled his eyes and followed her.

I looked at Dawn. She looked at me. And we stood up and darted out of the cave as quietly as possible.

I strolled into the Pokemon Center. "We are going to crash Team Rocket's party. Literally."

Everyone stared at me blankly. I looked at Dawn to explain every detail, which she did. A few moments of awkward silence followed, and then Touko sprang up from her seat in the booth against the wall. "I have something!" She reached into her Bag, rummaged around, and tossed out box after box of magenta hair dye. "I knew this would come in handy someday!"

Hibiki stood up. "I have a whole stash of Rocket uniforms back home! I'll just fly over and get them." He ran out of the Pokemon Center.

We watched the door close in silence, then Touko snapped up one of the boxes, scanned the instructions on the back, and then called across the Pokemon Center, "NURSE JOY, DO YOU HAVE A SINK BACK THERE?"

"Yes, I do!" the nurse replied.

"Okay!" She scooped up every box. "Kyouhei, you're first!" She grabbed my arm with her free hand and dragged me over to the counter. Nurse Joy opened a gate in the counter, and Touko pulled me through it. She filled up the sink with water, dumped the contents of the box in, scooted a chair over to the sink, sat me down in it, and dunked my head in the water. She worked the dye into my hair so vigorously I felt like she was going to rip it out. Finally, she lifted my head out of the water, plugged in a hair dryer, and blasted my hair with air so hot I thought my face was going to melt clean off.

"Okay. Done." She held up a small pink mirror to show me what she'd done to my hair.

She'd done a pretty good job. Every inch of my hair was now a bright magenta. "Nice hair, Kyouhei!" Lance yelled from across the Pokemon Center. I shot him a death stare, disregarding manners.

"You're next, Lance!" Touko yelled. I sniggered as he stood up and adopted a horrified look. Revenge is best served cold.
