Just so we're clear, I'm not a huge fan of last chapter either. I wanted to off Touko about as much as you nonexistent fans wanted me to. I'd prefer if you don't kill me so I can finish up with the story.

Another thing: I have another account, Earth_Chronicles. On this other account, I'm uploading a Pokemon fanfiction that I wrote last year about returning teams and all that good stuff. It's kind of like this one, so if you want to check it out, then go ahead. I've got a link in my profile if you're too lazy to use the search bar.

And one more thing: By the time this chapter is posted, I will have 1,000 reads on this story! :D! Thanks for reading this, everyone! Maybe you guys actually DO exist. :P

The next morning, I was the first one up. I got out of bed, dressed quickly, and left the room quietly, not wanting to wake the other three. I mean, they deserved a nice break. For Cheren and Kyouhei, Touko had just kind of died, and for Haruka, well, the last place she'd slept was a cave floor, for all I knew. Who am I to deny them the rest they needed?

I walked up the stairs to the main part of the Pokemon Center. Nurse Joy and the Pokémart guys weren't up there yet, since it wasn't officially open. Someone must have left us breakfast, though, because there was a platter piled high with pancakes and a stack of plates on the table. I put two on a plate, doused  it with maple syrup, sat cross-legged on the floor, and dug in. Not expecting anyone to come upstairs anytime soon, I ate slowly.

A while passed before I heard footsteps on the stairs. "Is that pancakes I smell?" Haruka strolled into the main room and took a whiff of the breakfast.

I grinned. "Only the best pancakes ever."

"Perfect. I'm starved." Haruka walked over to the table, piled four pancakes on a plate, dumped an unholy amount of syrup on them, and started eating like that guy in that episode of that show Barry was obsessed with. I'd have to ask him what it was called when I got home, er, if I got home.

Slowly but surely, the others made their way upstairs, took one look at Haruka, said things like "Are you going to leave any for me?" and dug into the pancakes themselves. Finally, everyone was upstairs except for Kyouhei. Nobody really said anything until Lance stood up.

"We need to go back in," he said.

Everyone stopped eating and stared at Lance.

"Did you hear me? I said we need to go back in."

Hibiki sprang up. "No. We don't."

"Are you crazy?! Of course we need to go back in! We're here to stop Team Rocket, you dumbass!"

This spurred what can only be described as a catfight between the two of them. I realized that if Touko had been here and not dead, she would have shoved them apart and screamed, "This is going nowhere!" But she wasn't, so the catfight ran its course.

Finally, Hibiki sat down, exhausted. "This is going nowhere," he sighed. "Can we just take a majority vote?"

"Now you're thinking straight. All in favor of going back in, please rise." Lance and everyone except for Hibiki and Haruka stood up. Said girl still had a heaping plate of pancakes on her lap, so she just raised her hand and continued to chew.

"Okay," Lance said, not bothering to complete the vote. "The court rules in favor of yours truly. As usual, we'll divide ourselves into groups. This time, it'll be me and Hibiki, Dawn and Red, and Haruka, Kyouhei, and Cheren.

"Now, without further ado," he said, glancing down at Hibiki, "we are going to leave." He grabbed Hibiki's arm and stood up. Hibiki shook Lance's arm off, gave him a death glare, and followed him out of the Pokemon Center.

"Hey, where's Kyouhei?" Haruka asked.

I hopped up. "I'll go and wake him up," I volunteered. Without waiting for them to say I could, I headed downstairs to do so.

He wasn't sleeping anymore, so the tough job was done. However, the blank stare on his face was comparable to sleep. I walked over to the bed and hopped up on the edge of the bottom bunk. For a few seconds, he continued to stare blankly into space, then turned to face me.

"We're going back in," I said.

"I don't wanna," he retorted.

"So you're just going to sit here and do nothing when you're here to save the freaking world?" I realized too late that that was a bit harsh, considering that his sister had just died.

He sighed, turned himself over, and planted his face in the pillow

I put my hand on his back. "Look. I know you're upset, but you're here to save the world from a bunch of bad guys. They already killed your sister. Do you want them to do anything worse?"

He didn't do anything.

"Okay, well, if I can't convince you, then I guess you can stay." I hopped off the bed and headed for the door.

Before I could leave, he stopped me. "Wait."

I stopped and turned around. He was sitting up now. "I guess I'll come."

"Great," I said. "You're with Haruka and Cheren. Now get upstairs."
