Because You're My Friends

(y/n) put her sword back intact behind her back after cleaning away the blood stain on it after clearing her mission with her team for that day. She was assigned to kill the rogue ninja from Kusagakure that try to sneak into Konoha, and of course, he's not alone. But, being in the same team with Kakashi and Itachi, she didn't have a rough fight for it.

Kakashi took off his ANBU mask and looked forward. Itachi and (y/n) can see his Sharingan shine brighter with the sunlight on us. Itachi took off his mask and stared at his sword. (y/n) also do the same, she took off her mask and stared at Itachi's action.

"Uh- Is something wrong with your sword, Itachi-kun? Is it broken? I-I can fix it for you", (y/n) offered her help to fix the sword.

The sword that was held by Itachi is still in a perfect shape. It's still sharp and the blade is still shinning from the sunlight struck. It has his name name carved on its handle with his clan's crest too. The carved looks so neat and clean. He touch the carving of his name gently before started to talk.

"Where did you bought this sword, (y/n)?" He tilted his head to face his best friend.

She didn't answer. She stared at the ground and scratched the behind of her head nervously. She looks so guilty after hearing the question from Itachi.

He leaned towards her closer and patted her shoulder to give her the courage to speak.

"I uh- I, uh- Actually-"

"You made it yourself, right?"

"How did-"

"This is your handwriting, (y/n). I recognized it since the first moment you gave it to me".

(y/n) kept staring at the ground as there is something incredible happened on the ground.

The Izumi clan is not allowed to make a sword and give it to anyone out of the clan. Only a few selected blacksmith from that clan are allowed to do that. That's one of Izumi clan's rule. Their handmade sword are so special because they use a rare material to make it. They also required to have a specific skill that is actually one of Izumi clan's secret ninjutsu to make it.

"B-But, I-I didn't use any special material to make it. Just a normal metal and steel like other sword. I-" (y/n) didn't finish her words. She felt so guilty for disobeyed her clan's rule. Shinobi are supposed to live with rules.

"You're not supposed to do that, (y/n). That's wrong. You should-" Itachi didn't get to finish his words when (y/n) snapped him with her words.

"I'm willing to do anything for you, because you're my friend, Itachi-kun. My best friend. The sword is just an ordinary sword by the way. I didn't use any chakra metal too. Just an ordinary sword!" She sounded very serious. She also pressed the word 'ordinary' in her words.

Itachi was speechless. He didn't know how to respond or reply. He looked down with the guilt took over his heart.

"Well, Itachi is right, (y/n). It's important for us to put the rules as our top priority. But you're not all wrong too, (y/n). It's nothing wrong if you do anything for your friend's sake. It was a brave thing to do, (y/n)" Kakashi interfere the two best friends' conversation while ruffles his female teammate's hair. It makes (y/n)'s hair looked messy.

(y/n) looked at his captain with a bright look after hearing those wonderful words came out from that annoying guy. Kakashi smiled back with both of his eyes shut.

Itachi still thinking about the words that he wanted to say, but he didn't find one. But, he finally spoke-

"Why did you always do such things for me? On our last mission and the Chunnin exam too. You always put yourself in a such dangerous situation, (y/n)", he spoke softly. It was so obvious that guilt is devouring him.
