she goes all the way
across the country
and they stop in
los angeles for a
while but the next
stop is home for
the boys she spends
a total of 107 days
with them before she
has to go back to her
city even
though he offered to buy
her a cheap apartment in
la because she loves the
city as much as she could
love michael one day but
michael still doesn't really
know how old she is
even though they celebrated
her birthday
in chicago a month after she
came on tour they spent
most of it tangled in sheets
and each other anyways
so she goes back to her city
and cries at the airport in la
and when she gets back home
when she's leaving she cries
while she hugs each of the boys
tightly and when she asks him for
a goodbye kiss and
he gives it to her
with no problem
or hesitation because
he doesn't know
when he'll get to kiss
her again
and she cries arriving in her
city because her mom is sober
and smiling and happy to see her
she says "welcome home" and
all she can think about
is how she left home
as soon as she got on
the plane and her mom
is confused and hurt because
her daughter is crying
and they aren't happy tears
