AQUALADS POV
After conversing with the fish Roy gave me for Christmas, I learned their names and had spoken to them about releasing them near our tower. They had all agreed, so I took the large array of fish outside near the bank of the sea. One by one I released the small fish. Once I was done they all confided that each year on this date they and their children would return to thank me. I smiled and entered the water to watch them swim away. I waved under the cool water. Suddenly I felt something grab me from behind. It quickly put a hand of some sort over my mouth and jerked me backwards. I struggled to get away, but my eyes widened as I felt something cold against my neck. As I peered down I saw the glimmering metal pressed closely below my chin. I tried to speak but the words were mumbled by the hand still coiled around my lips. That's when it all went black.
I woke up in a dank room, it was eerily lit with red lights. I squinted as I looked up at the lights. I peered down and saw my ankles shackled to the ground. I slowly stood up I rubbed my aching head and then remembered the events that had occurred. I felt my neck and sighed with relief when I found it unscaved. That's when the sound of clapping echoed through the room. Out of the shadows a figure walked forward and spoke. "My..my Aqualad, your little boyfriend is quite the charmer wouldn't you say?" I recognized that voice anywhere, my heart sunk in my chest as Brother Blood's facial features cleared and formed as he stepped further into the red light. "Hmm it would seem your taken a bit aback, let me explain." Blood then walked up to a chair across the room that sat parallel to me and took a seat. "You know, I do keep promises. I kept my eye on you, your much friskier than you seem I'll say, like a cat. Except you like fishes. It seems Speedy noticed. Well I needed to visit with you so I had a freind give you the invitation, quite forcefully by the way." I tried to get a read on Bloods face but all I could see in the red light was a blur. "Oh yes, the red light, lets just say those violet eyes of yours don't mix with red light. It makes your head a bit foggy, hmmm. It also makes manipulation much easier two. You see I know the power that you hold, Aqualad, and let me say it is most impressive.... and deadly." I couldn't help but feel the lump in my throat forming, analyzing the situation, Blood had all the advantages. "Well I bet knowing me, I do have lots of uses for it and since I have a much more intellectual mind than you, so I can of course harness it better. However it seems I have other business to attend to. So this little conversation will have to be continued another time."
things starting to get juicy 😉
