JUNIPER
sitting at her desk she idly played with the end of her pen, staring at the empty page before her. the graduation party and her birthday party planning was left up to her because nobody who was helping set it up wanted to participate in the actual planning of it.
useless.
she didn't mind since she was a stingy on how she wanted things to be. it originally wasn't her idea to host something big, but then alejandro and his friends insisted. they were inviting everybody and their momma's knowing them. it was the one time alejandro would allow alcohol near her, she couldn't pass up the chance.
the quiet humming of her fan kept her company, the fish tank that was sat near her dresser wasn't running. she had gotten it as an early birthday present from raymond. he said he got it from a fair he crashed, he won multiple medium sized fishes and knew he couldn't take care of them himself.
she was procrastinating but she didn't feel like searching up how to install everything at the moment. her window was open and blowing around the curtains since it was hot as the devils ass in her room for some odd reason.
soon she started to scribble over the paper, mindlessly checking off decorations and foods she wanted. it didn't matter since everything would probably get trashed by the crowd who was going to show up.
the door burst open, a body dramatically falling into her room and placing burly hands onto her shoulders. she rolled her eyes after she calmed down from the scare, this was the 4th time he's done this today.
a deep laugh came from behind her as the boy fell back into her freshly made bed, ruining the blankets and pillows.
"that bed could do without you tormenting it ever second of the day.", she spun in her chair with a small smile, admiring the way he looked, posed and ready for a teasing picture.
"it looked a little lonely. speaking of, it still looks like it wants more company. join me already, it's been years since you weren't sitting at your desk.", he smiled at her, patting the open space beside him.
she shook her head and turned back around, playfully ignoring him and his advances. groans and flopping of arms came from behind her. she sighed when her chair turned, swiveling to face a buff chest. she looked up and saw him smirking at her.
"come here..", he closed his eyes and brought his lips down to her puckered ones, already expecting a kiss.
dario, a boy she met at a school function when alejandro forced her to go and 'meet new people', was her boyfriend. he was an attractive, handsome man who was a senior at her high school. he was the school attraction, the quarterback who both girls and guys alike wanted his attention.
he came up to her seeing as she was lonely whereas everybody came with somebody. he made a small conversation with her, managing to make her laugh when it was the last thing she wanted to do. he was sweet to her and bought her a few snacks.
when the function was ending juniper thought that was the last she was going to interact with him. he ended up putting his number in her phone and telling her to text him if she ever needed something. she eventually hit him up saying she was bored and he invited her out to a place he was going to check out.
it was a little trip downtown and to the small tourist attraction shops where they put on funny costumes or pieces of clothing. they danced around to store music and made funny outfits. they went down to the beach to make sandcastles and have a burger near the ocean. she didn't call it a date at the time since she was playing hard to get.
she wasn't trying to jump into anything new with the potential of another piece of her heart breaking into thousands of other tiny pieces. they got closer eventually and juniper allowed him to take her on one actual date, then that turned to 2, then 3 and so forth.
