Rule #16 - don't let anything stop you from being happy

That phrase is very cliche, I'll admit it, but it's true. If I would of allowed Lenny and my mom to keep making me unhappy I wouldn't feel the happiness I feel now with all my friends and my girl - Billie?
"Who needs turkey anyways, that's a cliche, fried chicken is so much better" Billie said as she put the bag in the back and got back in her car. "You are vegan doof" I said and she only laughed and nodded, "that's why I will be eating potatoes and vegetables" she said and I smiled and held her hand. "I told my parents" she said suddenly and I looked at her. "How'd they take it?" I asked, "great actually, my parents are excited to meet you" she said and I smiled and kissed her lips quickly.
After we all gave thanks we were eating and talking when Billies phone dinged and I noticed it was a text from Lenard, that made me upset and I nosily peeked over and read the text. "My parents loved you xo- L", "why did you meet his parents?" I asked and billies face instantly dropped and my friends attention was on us. "It's not like that I promise" she said but I stood up and walked away from her and into the garage to catch a breathe. "It's not like that" she said once again entering the garage. "So you lied on where you were at and you lied to me about your parents?" I asked, "I didn't lie, I stopped by for maybe 10 minutes to give him back some things you have to believe me" she said cupping my face. I sighed and walked back to the dinner table and continued to eat. In reality I didn't know what to believe because of our past history together, after we finished eating we all sat on the sofa and watched a movie together. Everyone sat with their couple and I sat a bit of distance away from Billie, "let's go on an actual date" Billie mumbled and I stayed quiet for a minute before agreeing. "Great now cuddle with me Im cold" she whispered before pulling me to lay on top of her. "I always knew you were gay Eilish" Conan announced randomly which made everyone agree and laugh.
At the end of the night everyone sat around the campfire and sang songs because everyone had such beautiful voices, I have really talented friends. "Why didn't you tell me you sang so good?" I asked Billie as I sat next to her and wrapped my blanket over the both of us. "A hidden talent" she answered, "well a talent you have to share with the world" I said and she smiled before leaning on me and admiring as Camren sang a song together.
