Insert 13: Confrontation

Adelaide sit in the class as she continues looking at Stephano's chair. It was past 9 and he shared a  class with her but he was yet to appear in the class.

She felt guilty that she was happy that be wasn't there. Who wouldn't be happy if his/her enemy wasn't around? She was happy because whenever Stephano was in the class, he never hesistated to make snide remarks about her.

It was either he called foolish, stupid, ugly,pauper or any other insult that he knew. So she was kind of glad that he wasn't in the class. She could breathe properly and have peace in the class. Right now, she was experiencing a sense of tranquillity and she also knew that Halfrida was feeling the same way.

"Thank you Lord that the devil himself isn't in class" today she mutters silently but it appear that she rejoiced too early. As she raised her head up, she saw him. She saw the devil himself as he walked gracefully into the class.

He walked into the class like someone who had no problem in the world. His walking steps exudes confidence and she hated that he was having an effect on her.

Being the coward she is, her heart skipped when he passed her seat to his seat while he smirked.

"You need not to be afraid Adelaide. He won't hurt you. He can do nothing to you. You should be glad you know your enemy and can avoid him. I know how he insulted you last time. Don't be afraid of him Addy" Halfrida said.

"Addy please smile for me" Halfrida coax.

"I don't want to smile Frida." Addy said looking down.

"No Addy. You need to show him. Show him what stuff you're made of. Smile. If you smile, he would realise he is nothing."

Adelaide looked at Stephen who smirked at her. She did what he least expected. She smirked back and she could swear that she saw confusion in his eyes. She was glad that she had won him today.

Stephen looked at her angrily as he opened his table.
"Ouchhhhhhh"Stephen winced in pain as he withdrew his bloody hands from the table.

"What!" Adelaide gasp as she rushed to Stephen's seat taking his hand in hers.

Inasmuch as she didn't like him, she hated when she saw someone hurt.

"What happened Stephen? You are bleeding" she says trembling.

"Leave my hand you pretender. You put this nail inside my locker to get me injured and you come here pretending to care" Stephen bark.

"No Stephen. I swear I'm not the one who put that nail in your locker" Adelaide say.

"Shut the hell up and leave my hand. I would make sure you pay for this you foolish creature" stephen say as he jerked his hand from hers.

"Stephen, my friend is not a worthless creature. I can swear on myself that she didn't do it. There is some misunderstanding here.
Perhaps someone who hates you did this. Adelaide isn't like that" Halfrida bark in anger.

"When humans are talking, I don't think a fat elephant should contribute. Talking to you can make me underweight like your stupid friend Adelaide" Stephano taunts as he knew that saying that would make Halfrida hurt.

"You're very mean" Halfrida say as a drop of tear dropped out of  her eyes.

"I can be more mean if you continue blabbing." Stephano replies.

"Stephano I promise that I didn't do that" Adelaide beg.

"How dare you put nail in my locker?" Stephen ask shaking her violently.

"Stephen please stop. You are hurting me"Adelaide cries fearfully.

"Stephen why don't you leave her alone? Adelaide is not that kind of person"Vanessa, Stephen classmate said.

"Would you shut up your mouth you fool" Stephano bark momentarily leaving Adelaide before holding her once again.

"Stephen please leave my arm. You are hurting me" Adelaide begs.

"When I was about opening my locker, you were looking at me and smirking. You think I didn't see that? You couldn't contain your joy seeing me opening the locker" Stephano say breathing heavily.

"I swear with everything I cherish that I I didn't do it" she cries opening her palms as if to add more weight to her statement.

"You would surely pay for this" Stephen warns.

"What the hell is going on? Mrs Becky ask as she entered into the class.

Stephen looked at her in anger but didn't utter a word because he knew if he said something, it would very bad.

He didn't want her to know that he knew about her affair because he wanted to deal with her specially.

"I want to see you both in the staff room"she said as she observed that Stephen and Adelaide were obviously fighting.

"Ma I swear, I didn't put nail in his locker"Adelaide say amidst tears.

"Why do you insist that  she was the one who put the nail in your locker Stephen?" Mrs Becky ask.

"When I was about opening my table, I mistakenly turned to her direction and caught her smirking at me" Stephano explained.

"Is that true" Adelaide Mrs Becky ask.

"Yes ma but....."

"No buts Adelaide. That clearly shows that you were the one who put the nail in his locker" Mrs Becky say.
"No ma I didn't..."

"Yes you did. Stephen I would have let you go but I was told you rough handled her. You both are to face 2 hours detention."

"Ma please. I can't face detention" Adelaide begged as fresh tears were coming out of her eyes.

"Why the hell I'm I been detained when I'm clearly injured?" Stephen ask angrily.

"You are detained because you rough handled a girl" Mrs Becky replies.

"Oh I didn't realise that she was a girl." Stephano say as he smirk.

"I think you both should go to your class and face detention" she adds.

Adelaide sat in her sit crying because she had never faced detention in her entire life.

She was supposed to be at Madam kate's shop now(where she sells) but she is in class facing detention for a crime she didn't commit.

Halfrida offered to stay with her but she refused telling Halfrida to go home and take care of her(Adelaide's)mom.

"Why the hell are you crying?" Stephen ask pissed because Adelaide had been crying since the beginning of detention.

"Stephano why do you hate me so much?" She ask feeling frustrated.

"I just hate you. You disgust me. So it's better you stop shedding all those crocodile tears and allow me to think proeprly" Stephen say staring at his injured palm.

"Stephano I didn't do that. This is just some misunderstanding. I know that you don't believe me but I'm been serious" she replies biting her finger.

"Whatever Stephen replied. If you just shut up your mouth, I may be able to convince myself that you didn't do it" he replies.

"Really?" She replies suprised.

"Yes. But in our next world, I would be able to convince myself that you didn't do it" Stephen replies beaming a smile.

"You're so difficult" she replies wearily.

"Thanks. Finally you have some sense in that faulty brain of yours" Stephen replies with a smirk while Adelaide continues crying.
