Insert 16: Apologising

Stephen sat on his chair his mind replaying all what had transpired between him and his best friend. He knew that he really needs Luke but he couldn't just imagine himself apologising to Luke. He felt really guilty for calling his best friend a fool.

He knew that he would not have been happy if Luke had insulted I'm first.

He knew that it was wrong to control his friends. But he believed that Luke shouldn't have commended or clapped for Adelaide.

There is a concept all friends should work with. The enemy of your friend should also be your enemy but Luke didn't follow that principle.  If Luke had an enemy, he would not have been friends with the enemy. That was one of the bro code.

He turned around momentarily locking his eyes with Luke who gave him a once over before looking down at his book. He knew that Luke wasn't really reading as his eyes was just fixed to one spot. 

He knew that Luke was hurt by what he did but he was also expecting an apology.

"Stephano, you really need to apologise to Luke. What you said  to Luke was so bad. You had no right to call him a fool Stephen" David say.

"I won't apologise. Nothing would make me apologise to Luke. Luke should never have done what he did. He knows that I don't like Adelaide yet he went ahead to clap for her. Who does that?"Stephen ask stubbornly.

"You really need to apologise. Stephen you apologised to Mrs Becky who insulted you. It wouldn't be bad for you to apologise to a friend you hurt.

Even if you are trying to pretend Stephen, I know that deep down in that heart of yours, you miss Luke. It have been two days since you both had issues yet you haven't gotten over it. Stephen I'm telling you what I think is right. A hair in your head wouldn't fall out, you wouldn't lose your front teeth, your wouldn't lose your wealth if you apologise to Luke. Friends are meant to come to each other after any conflict.You can do what you deem fit though" David ended his speech.

Stephano saw sense in the advice given by David. He apologized to Mrs Becky even if she had insulted him but he was finding it difficult to apologise to his friend.

Luke sat in his chair reading a novel when Stephen came to his seat. He wasn't really reading the novel, but he wanted to keep himself busy. They say an idle man, is the devil's workshop. 

"What do you want from me Stephen?" Luke asked eyeing Stephen.

"Actually I'm I'm well, that day, I I didn't mean to ...I'm sorry Luke. I'm sorry for calling you a fool. I didn't really mean it. You know I'm not good at doing this Luke, so you really need to forgive me" Stephen pleaded as he looked down.

"You don't demand for forgiveness, you beg for it" David whispered to Stephen.

"Leave me alone" Stephen Luke replied.

"Luke don't make this harder for me. You know how much it takes me to apologise.

Please forgive me Luke. I'm really sorry. I rarely apologise and Luke I really mean it. I'm sorry" Stephen pleads.

"I thought you only ask for forgiveness to avoid detention. I never thought you can ever apologise for doing wrong because you believe you are never wrong" Luke say.

"I'm sorry Luke. I promise never to insult you again" Stephen say running his hand on his hair.

"Ok Stephano. I forgive you but I need to give you something. Only after that would my mind be clear" Luke state.

"ok no problems. If it is money, video games, drinks, car, name it, I would give it to you" Stephen replies.

"I never knew that your dad teaches you to ask for favours before forgiving someone" David joke.

Luke looked at David angrily while David looked at Luke as if he hadn't say anything. "So you mean you would give me anything?" Luke ask Stephen

"Yes I would' Stephen replied.

"Ouchhhh" Stephen screams as he doubles up in pain while clutching his stomach.

"Luke why did you punch my stomach?"Stephen ask holding his stomach in pain and shock.

"I wanted you to feel the pain I felt when you insulted me. So we are friends once again" Luke replied smirking.

"Thank God" Stephen replies still feeling the pain in his stomach.

"I didn't know that there is a part of the bible that says punch does that offend you before forgiving them" Stephen say smiling.

"You deserve more than a punch Stephano. I'm supposed to remove your head from your neck" Luke tease.

"Wow so you are aspiring to be the next American serial killer. It would really look good to know I have a friend that can kill for me" Stephen joked as they laugh heartily.
