When class is over I walk to the front of the classroom and grab tonight's homework. When I'm about to leave I get pulled back. "Hey boo" Steph coos and I push her away. "Leave me the fuck alone, I don't get how you understand that I don't want anything to do with you." I say and walk out. Steph follows me and I walk up to Tessa. When I'm about to kiss her Steph pulls me back and kisses me. "What The Hell?" I yell and push her off. "What The hell? Harry Your my boyfriend and you're hanging around with this slut. The one who lost her virginity to her best friends boyfriend." She mocks Tessa's past and I get mad. "You're lucky you're a girl because if you weren't I would beat your head into the ground." I say threw my teeth and Tessa smiles. She shoves Steph on the ground and starts banging her head on the concrete. "LEAVE. MY. BOYFRIEND. THE . FUCK. ALONE!!!!!" Tessa screams between each time she slams her head down. Steph grabs Tessa's hair and yanks it. I rush up to Tessa and pull her away. "Come on let's go" She fights me but I'm too strong. I carry her out to the car and she relaxes when I set her down. "Lets go" She mocks my words and I get in the car and drive off. "What is Steph's problem?" I ask and she looks at me. "I don't know. All I know is that Christi really liked her. She told Steph that lie and that's why she hates me. Christi moved and Steph blamed me. She hooks up with a bunch of boys." She says and she has glossy eyes. "Anyway who is your boyfriend?" I ask to change the subject. I hate seeing her cry. "Come on Hardin, I like you and you clearly have something for me." She says and her cheeks turn red. "I know you like me, we are friends." I say because I want to hear her say it again. "Fine i'll make it clear, I LOVE YOU" She exaggerates. "I know I just wanted to hear you say it" I admit and her face gets redder. "Is someone embarrassed?" I ask just to annoy her. "Yes! How much longer am I stuck in the car with you?" She asks and I let out a chuckle. She turns her head away from me and looks out the window. "What was his name?" I ask. I just want to know Christis boyfriend's name. I wanna get his opinion on Tess. I wish I could make Steph leave Tess alone. "What?" Tess asks in a voice so quiet I can barely hear her. "Her boyfriend, What was his name?" I repeat myself and she looks down. "Jake" That's all she says. I see tears fall off her round pick cheeks. I wanna make her laugh not cry. "I love you" I whisper and she jerks her head up really fast. "Y-You what?!" She asks in a panicked voice. Shit did she not mean it when she said it earlier? "Umm. Nothing" I quickly say. I know she heard me but I don't want her to think I'm weird.

When we arrive in our neighborhood she gets out and goes into her house. I walk into mine and my little sister runs to me. "HARDIN" She squeals and hugs my knees. I pick her up and hug her. I love having a little sibling. I feel like I'm her dad because I'm so old. My mum is single. She works so hard, too hard. I want to get a job to help out. She does enough for me. She puts up with my bad behavior and she gives me food and a house to live in. I don't deserve to haven a house after what I did. "So how was school?" Lea asks and I set her on the ground. "Interesting" Is all I say. She doesn't need to know the whole story. "What does that mean?" God she is kinda nosy. "Tess got beat up by some bitch, Then that bitch tried to kiss me so Tessa beat her head into the ground." I say and her jaw is on the floor. Her big green eyes are staring in mine. I smile and she finally closes her mouth. "I'm going to do homework." I say and start to walk away. "Oh and knock on my door just in case me and Tess are in there together." I add and she makes a grossed out face.

*Tessa's POV*

We pull into Hardin's house and I walk over to mine. I walk in and see my mom is sitting on the couch wearing sweats and a t-shirt. She must of got home from work early or she just didn't go. "How was school?" She asks once I make it to the stair case. I was hoping she wouldn't ask that. I also hope she doesn't turn around. Like she is reading my thoughts she turns around and looks at me. "Holly Shit Tessa what happened?!" She gets up and rushes over to me. " Nothing mom I'm fine." I say and get out of her grip. I know she hates Steph. We all do. "What the hell happened? I swear Tessa if it was that boy-" I cut her off. Hardin would never hurt me would he? "NOO It wasn't Hardin. Steph was mad because Hardin was giving me a piggyback ride, At the end of the day she kissed him so I smashed her head in the ground, Not to mention Kassie beat her up for me." My mom lets out a laugh. " God I hate that bitch" We laugh a little and I go to my room. I get changed into some sweats then go to Hardin's room and take one of his shirts. I slip it on and then I go back to my room. I grab my phone and my favorite novel. I go back to his room only to see he is not here. I lay down on his bed and open my book. I get so lost in Emily Bronte's words that I don't realize there is another human in the room with me. I feel a hand touch my arm and I smack it. "Ow!" I hear a deep English accent say. Shit I just slapped Hardin. "Oh my gosh I am so so sorry" I grab his hands and move them off his face. I see the red mark left from my hand. I laugh a little. "What's so funny?" He asks me and walks to the bathroom and looks in the mirror. "Tess!" He huffs and looks at me. "Well aren't you strong." He says and smiles. I laugh and run to our tree house. When I'm inside I hide behind the curtains. He comes in and easily finds me. He grabs my waist and starts to tickle me. I slap his arms but he doesn't stop. "Sto-op" I stutter and he keeps doing it. "I'm going to pee" He stops as soon as I say that and I run to my bathroom. I head back to find Hardin looking at my books. "You read?" I thought I was the only one. "Yep" He says and plops down on my bed. I smile and lay down next to him. He grabs my waist and pulls me closer. "I love you Tess" He whispers in my ear and I smile. "I love you too Scott" I say and look at him, He frowns. "Don't say 'too'" He says and I tilt my head. "Why?" Why doesn't he like the 'too' In 'I love you'? "Because it sounds like you're agreeing with me and I want you to mean it and not agree with me." He says and I peck him on the lips. "I love you Scott" I say again this time without the too part. He smiles and buries his head into my neck. I giggle. As I am about to say something my mom comes in. "Theresa!" She shouts and pulls Hardin out of my bed. "What was that for?!" I squeak and Hardin looks scared. Hardin scared something I thought I would never see but here I am. "He was trying to get in your pants." She says and I laugh like I really laugh. "No he wasn't. He was just hiding his face. That's all" I say and Hardin smiles. "Oh okay I'm sorry have fun with your boyfriend! But not too much fun!" She shouts when she gets down stairs. "NOT MY BOYFRIEND!" I shout back. "That was awkward," Hardin says after I tell my mom I'm still single. "Yep" Is all I say. He lays back down and I lay on his chest. I rest my arm on his torso and I place my other hand in his hair and rub his scalp. He wraps his arms around my body and his eyes flutter closed. He lets out a little moan and I stop my movements. "Hey!" He says after he opens his eyes. "Why did you stop?" He pouts. "Because you were moaning and I don't need my mom thinking I'm doing something sexual." I say and giggle. "Cute then let's go to my room and you can whatever because my mum isn't home. I also told Lea to knock." he says and tries to sit up. "Noooooo I don't wanna move" I groan and he picks me up and carries me to his room.
