Read A/N at the end, please. I don't own the world of Harry Potter in any way nor am I trying to take credit for it.

I'm almost half asleep by the time Dr. Pomphrey comes in to speak to us. Lily, who is sitting in the chair next to my bed jumps up to greet the doctor as soon as she enters the room.

"Hi, I'm Lily Evans. This is my brother, Remus do you know when he can leave? Has someone already told you what happened? Your witch of an assistant was just in here did she-" Lily starts rambling so I decide to cut in before she says something she will regret.

"Lils," damn my voice sounds too weak, "Lily Evans, sit down and stop rambling, please. You're giving me a headache." Out of the corner of my eye, I see the Dr. smiling at our bickering. She turns to me and starts speaking,

" Remus, I have just finished looking over your file with Tonks. Unfortunately, your test results aren't in your favor." crap that can't be a good sign. She turns to Lily and starts speaking "Miss Evans, may I speak to you outside please?" the doctor's words start scaring me. All I hear is the click of the door as Lily and Pomphrey leave the room.

Lily's POV

As soon as the door clicks behind me, I am met with the most grim expression I have ever seen.

"What's wrong?" My voice is weak and tired but at this point, I don't care. Remus is my brother even if were not related by blood, I need to know he's gonna be ok.

"Miss Evans, your brother I struggling badly. From the results Miss Tonks showed me, I can tell that he has extremely low blood sugar, his heart rate is extremely high- although that could be from his fear of hospitals- his stomach and liver will stop working if his habits don't change soon. From what I can tell, he suffers from anorexia. Has this ever happened before?" I'm in tears by the time she's done speaking.

"Y-yes," I clear my throat then try again. "Once, he fainted. I took him to the hospital. It was awhile ago though. H-he, He told me he w-was better." How could I have been so stupid? Did I ever see him eat? No. Why did I think I could trust that he wouldn't do this again? He thinks this is what he deserves. His retched father made him believe-

"Miss Evans, I understand this is an emotional moment for you but please try to contain yourself." Pomphrey sighs and speaks again, "Your brother will be in the hospital for a few days while we get his vitals working again. After that, he will be sent to another wing of this hospital where he will kept under strict suicide watch and go through recovery therapy for a month." At these words, I break. My Remmy- my best friend. The poor boy I rescued on "That Night" will be stuck here. He hates it here. I can't protect him here- Stop it Lily Evan's you need to control yourself and go check on Remus.

"Dr. Pomphrey, I-I, ugh, it's just that Remus hates hospitals. H-he has sort of a, er, a b-bad history with them. Do y-you mind giving me a minute to talk to him first?" This won't be easy and I know it but I have to try. The doctor nods and I walk in the room silently.

Back to Remus's POV

When Lily walks into the room, there are tear tracks down her face. She puts on a poor attempt of a smile and tries to make a joke,

"Wow buddy, you really did a number on yourself," well ain't that fucking fantastic I probably have to stay here longer. Lily climbs onto the bed with me a pulls me into her arms.

"I'm gonna start talking now, and you need to stay quiet until I'm finished do you understand?" Lily is speaking to me like I'm a little kid but I don't really care right now. She takes my silence as a cue to go on,

"You have been lying about your eating, don't object because I saw the tests. Your vitals are dangerously low. Doctor Pomphrey predicts three days until she can get them up again." At this, I smile. Great, I go home in three days. Lily must guess what I'm thinking because she continues on, "Three days until you are released from this room. But... oh, buddy, they're putting you on suicide watch not to mention keeping you in recovery therapy. You're stuck here or a month. Re, you're stuck here for a month." Lily is crying, so am I. I can't be left here for a full month. I'll go crazy.

"Lils, I can't do this," she must know how scared I am because her hold on me tightens. "Lily, I will go crazy."

"Rem if you don't do this, they're gonna send you back. I'm only 18, they won't send you home with me to look after you. They'll send you back to your parents." Shit, its's a month in the hospital or forever with my parents. I can't go back, my father will actually kill me this time. He almost did "That Night". The one where Lils found me and saved my life.

"Fine, I'll stay but only for a month, not a day longer." Lily lets out a long sigh at my words.

"I'll be here every day to check on you Remmy, I promise" those are the last words I hear before eventually letting Lily rock me to sleep. This will be the longest month of my life...

Hi guys,

As promised here's the update for this week. I have so many ideas and hope to update once a week if I can. For future reference, Sirius, Remus, and Wormtail are 16 in this. James is 17 but still in their year at school (he was held back 1 year). Lily is 18 in this story. I understand that's not their accurate gaes but for this story that's how it works best. Please let me know if there are any mistakes. I love you all and hope you enjoy this story. As always, make sure you comment and vote for this story if you like it. Love always,

Bear
