7. A Lonely Christmas

Chapter 7:

I am obsessed with this song right now. I found it off of a Mischief Managers CMV and now it reminds me of the Marauders so much. Anyways, before you start to hate me, I apologize for the late updates. Unfortunately, you might need to start getting used to them. School sucks, life is crazy, just the usual crap. In turn for your forgiveness, I offer Wolfstar Christmas. So without further ado, enjoy the story, and love you all.

~Time Skip 4 days~

".... and then we just decided to... ya know how that goes right? Right? ...Remus are you listening to me?" Sirius lightly smacks my face to bring my head back down to Earth. Marlene has been gone for almost four days. It doesn't feel right, she should be here right now as part of our little, three-person family. It's Christmas morning, and we're stuck here. At least they give us a break from sessions today so we can spend time with the family who are still willing to visit us. Unfortunately, the Potters are out of town, visiting with the Pettigrews. The Evans offered to come visit me but I told them there was no need to. Ever since I moved in with them, I've been intruding on their family time, it feels wrong for them to spend Christmas in the hospital simply for my sake. At least Sirius and I have each other right? We've gotten pretty close over the time we've spent together and I guess he's my one friend who gets what it's like to be me. It's funny how that works, we come from the same shitty situation and make almost instant friends.

"Oh come on did I lose you again? Earth to Moony," I can tell he's getting annoyed with my distant mind now. That's the difference between us, I enjoy the silence and staying in my head, Sirius hates it.

"Hmm? Sorry Padfoot, what was that?" I can't remember what we were talking about before my head got lost.

"I was saying- oh it doesn't matter anymore I was mainly rambling to myself," he sighs and we manage to fall into a comfortable silence. I glace over at Sirius subtly trying to read his emotions. His sharp jawline is clenched tight as if he's fighting to keep his neutral expression. His lips are chewed and chapped yet still full and pink even when they're forced into a gentle frown. My eyes travel upwards to study his whole face. I'm soon distracted by his eyes. Those silver eyes with small flecks of a blueish color. I wonder to myself what he would look like with all blue eyes and quickly determine that it was just wrong. Blue-eyed Sirius would most definitely not be my Sirius. Wait- since we was he my Sirius? No, he's just Sirius, not mine or James's or anybody else's. I pulled from my thoughts entirely when those eyes become red-rimmed and a single tear falls, leaving a trail down the side of Sirius's face.

"Hey, it's ok Pads talk to me. What's wrong?" I lay my hand on his shoulder in an attempt to be comforting. He says nothing for a second while tears continue to fall one at a time.

"I-It's just, oh, i-it's probably stupid, nevermind," he finally says.

"Oh Siri, I told you that whatever you need you can talk to me about. If something's upset you or hurt you then it's not stupid," he looks up at me and hesitates for a second. Before I can blink, he's wrapped himself in my arms hugging me like I'm the only thing keeping him on this Earth. A weird warm feeling spread through my gut that I couldn't quite ignore. He cried and cried some more, never making a move to pull away out of the hug. After a while, he calms down and mutters and quick "sorry." I shrug in indifference as he lays his head on my shoulder. One thing James told me, Sirius will cuddle anything or anyone at any time. We stayed in silence for a while and just as I was sure Sirius would fall asleep he spoke up,

"It's Christmas Moony" he mumbles softly.

"Yea, it is," I say, slightly confused. There's another pause.
