A/n: Ok so just to clear things up. Lily and James are 15, they are older than Sirius and Remus (and eventually Peter)-who are still 14- by like half a yearish in this fic. They are all the same age and attending the same school normally in their 4th year. Basically, just pretend that they haven't met or talked in school because ya know, nerdy Rem and Lily and jocks Siri and James never needed to talk to each other. They are on the Christmas holiday. Remus and Sirius both arrived at the hospital on the almost same day if you remember from the first few chapters imagine the day they arrive as two weeks before Christmas. They will be released in time to finish the second half of their 4th year.

~Time Skip 2 days~

It was early morning on my 5th day stuck in this stupid place when I woke up by two nurses setting up a new bed a room divider right next to me. Upon turning around, I notice that it is only about 7:30 meaning I still have 30 minutes until I am required to wake up and report for breakfast.

"Er...good morning?" to be frank, I was annoyed by the lack of privacy this place allowed us. Then again, we are on suicide watch, it would be dumb if they left us alone for too long or waited for permission to enter our rooms. One of the nurses, a guy with long blonde hair and an utmost evil aura, turned to me and nodded,

"Ah, yes... Mr. Lupin, was it? You will have to excuse Tonks and me, after breakfast your new roommate will be moving into this room-"

"Wait a second, back up- I'm getting a roommate?" Seriously, I've been here five days, and all of a sudden they think I fit enough to be a good example to a roommate?

"Yes, Mr. Lupin, we have almost reached maximum capacity for everyone to get a room to themselves. According to Dr. Pomphrey, you and Mr. Black are under similar care and you seem to be on good behavior so far. Therefore, you will be rooming with Black," I simply nodded and turned over to try to get some more rest. I had heard of the Black family, they were all awful pricks, and sharing a room with one did not fit my idea of healthy. With that in mind, I got lost in my thoughts and zoned out until Tonks made me get out of bed to eat.

"I don't warrant to Tonks, it's cold" I learned that she wasn't all that awful which made her more likely to give in to my whining and put up with me a little longer.

"Remus, I give you till the count of 5 to leave your bed our this glass of water gets dumped over your head," ok, so I guess she's not a morning person either. I gradually climb out of bed and walk over to the piece of metal hanging on my wall acting as a mirror. Oh yeah, forgot to mention that we don't get real mirrors ya know because apparently, we will break them and use the glass to slit our wrists. With that oh so pleasant thought, I allow Tonks to lead me to the dining hall for a "nice, group meal."

~Time skip til after meal time~

Today, I gave in. A large part of me was so interested in meeting the new guy bunking with me that I barely made a show of resisting the food. Instead, I did as I always do; bouncing my legs to increase calorie burn and eating as slow/little as possible without being suspicious- just this time I decided against causing a fuss. Today, it seemed like Tonks was assigned to me. She walked me back to my room to let me meet the young Black, who's first name I discovered was Sirius. Once, we arrive in the now shared hospital room, I see two kids probably around my age sitting on the bed that was set up this morning. The first is tall and lanky and pretty much all arms and legs. He had hazel eyes and a mop of curly black hair that stood up in every direction. His face was tearstained but it was clear that this kid was proud, he thought he was better than almost everyone else here simply because he didn't need to be in a ward getting help like the rest of us. In his arms, was another boy much shorter, but with broad shoulders and a strong frame. Somehow, I knew this was Sirius. I don't know how, but I was certain. Is it the pale, blue eyes that easily could have been mistaken for grey? Or maybe the trademark raven waves framing his face and tumbling past his shoulders? No, it wasn't his eyes, hair, facial features, or anything else that told me just who this boy was. It was the look in his eyes. The way this boy looked as if the life had been drained from him, the way you could tell there was no real hope to live in his mind with just one glance. He easily could have been just as proud and confident as his raven-haired counterpart at one point, but right now, Sirius Black is hopeless and broken just like the rest of us.
