Tony's POV

"Fury," I say, nodding my head once.

"What are we all meeting for?" asks Clint. "Another mission?"

"Yes ... Where is Sophie?"

"She hasn't left her room in three days. None of us really know why, but she doesn't want to talk to anyone."

"I don't care. Someone go get her."

I get up and head to Sophie's room. The door's closed so I knock.

"Hey, Soph, can I come in?"

"I guess," I hear her mumble.

I open the door and enter the room. The lights are off and the blinds are shut. Depressing music is playing. After my eyes adjust to the light - or lack of it - I notice Sophie lying on her bed with her head hanging off the end.

"Soph?"

She doesn't answer.

"We're having an Avengers meeting."

No answer.

"Fury demands you come."

No answer, no movement. I sigh.

"Soph, you need to come. We have a mission."

Still no answer or movement. I sigh again, grab her by the feet and drag her from the room.

Sophie's POV

My father's dragging me down the hall to the room where all the other Avengers are. I don't fight, but I don't help either. I have no energy or will to do either. We reach the door of the room.

"Are you going to walk in there or will I have to drag you?"

I don't answer and I don't move.

"Dragging it is, then."

He opens the door and drags me into the room. All eyes are on me ... I can sense it ... but I don't care until I catch Peter's eye. Something about the way he looks at me pulls me to my senses and I kick my legs out of my father's grip and get to my feet. I walk stiffly to a chair, struggling slightly with walking because I've barely walked for the past three days. I sit down.

"Right," says Fury. "Now that Miss Stark has joined us, we can get on with the details of the mission."

He proceeds to explain the situation.

"Now, seeing as Loki needs to prove himself to be worthy of being an Avenger, he will be the one accompanying Miss Stark in the infiltration."

I catch my father's eye. I sense his fury at Fury...

Fury at Fury ... hehehe.

I think Fury just noticed my smirk because he suddenly stopped talking and started staring at me.

"Are you even listening, Miss Stark?!"

"I was ... until you mentioned Loki. I would much rather not attend with him."

"You have no choice in the matter, Miss Stark."

I struggle not to laugh at the insult that just popped into my head. I suddenly can't help myself.

I blurt out "Of course, Captain Eyepatch."

Fury stares, directing all his fury at me and the others around me try not to laugh.

"I am beginning to regret my decision to let you join the Avengers, Miss Stark. Control your tongue or I'll have to re-evaluate my decision."

I clamp my mouth shut.

"As I was saying, Loki will be accompanying Miss Stark to the building and acting as her partner."

I see my father's frustration blooming. He really wants to keep me away from Loki. My frustration also starts to bloom, but not at Fury.

"You, Miss Stark, will need to start up a conversation with the owner of the house and try to convince him to show you around the house. From there, you can figure out how to stop the bomb."

I nod.

Pepper's POV

"Sophie! You need to find something to wear."

"Why can't I just wear the outfit I wore to that stupid Avengers party?"

"You might ruin it doing this task! And besides, you need something easy to move in."

"Huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuurrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!"

Sophie comes out of the changing room.

"I hate it."

"You don't have to like it, you just have to wear it."

"But I'm uncomfortable in a colour that isn't black."

"Then we'll find it in black."

"But I don't like not having a hood!"

"Too bad."

"HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUURRRRRRGH!"

I shake my head.

"Honestly! You'd think I was asking you to clean the toilet or something, not wear a dress!"

Sophie sighs.

"Fine, I'll wear it, but only if you find it in black. If not, I'm wearing the dress from the party."

I look through the racks of clothes.

"Found it!"

"HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUURRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGH!"

I laugh.

"Ha. Now you have to wear it."

She gives me a scowl.

"I'll buy you lunch to make up for it."

She stops scowling.

"There! You look much nicer with that scowl gone."

She scowls again.
